MAY CROWNING

SPRING CLEAN UP
Sts. Peter and Paul Church's Spring Clean-up is Saturday, May 20, at 9:00am.  Volunteers are needed to help clean the church and Gathering Space, as well as clean up the lawn and maybe some minor landscaping for spring and summer. Thank you!

SCCS SPORTS PHYSICALS
On Tuesday, May 16, NOMS will be conducting sports physicals for students entering grades 4-12 next year. Physicals are from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the NOMS building on the corner of Hayes Avenue and Strub Road. Please click here for the OHSAA physical form, and be sure to fill it out completely. Bring the completed form and $10 the night of physical exams.

CONCUSSION INFORMATION FORM
All student-athletes entering grades 4-12 next year are required to read and sign the Ohio Department of Health Concussion Information Sheet. Please click here for forms.

PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY NEWS

IMPORTANT PANTHER PRESCHOOL DATES
The month of May is a busy time in the Preschool! The following are a few important dates:
May 12: Rodeo Day, wear your best western gear
May 24: End of the Year Program for the preschool at 9:00am in the MPR. Parents, please bring a plate of cookies to share. Parking will be available on the playground and on the street. Preschool will be dismissed for the day after the program.
May 25: Last day of preschool classes
May 26: Preschool picnic from 10:00am-12:30pm at Osborn Park.
 
FUN AND FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

SCCS K-5 SPRING MUSIC PROGRAM
Please join us for the K-5 spring music program, "Toy Story, the Musical" on Tuesday, May 23, at 1:30pm in the Multi-Purpose Room. The musical is based on the movie "Toy Story" and was written by the 5th grade Voices In Praise Choir. We hope to see you there!


MIDDLE & HIGH SCHOOL NEWS

PARENT MEETING FOR WASHINGTON, DC TRIP NEXT YEAR
There will be an informational meeting for parents of students who will be in the 8th grade next year (2017-2018) for the spring Washington, DC trip. The meeting is Tuesday, May 9 at 7:00pm in the PPC.


PARTNERS IN HEALTH MEETING
SCCS and Firelands Regional Medical Center are partnering up to provide tools that support the health and well-being of our students.   Throughout the school year, several topics will be introduced and educational components will be provided.  All current 8th-11th grade parents are asked to attend a Partners in Health meeting on Wednesday, May 10, at 7:00pm in "The Den" balcony.  Mr. Antonelli and Mrs. Sandie Beal, Director, Firelands Corporate Health, will lead an informative discussion concerning drug & alcohol prevention. 

YES SERVICE PROJECT
Current high school students are invited to sign up for YES (Youth Engage in Service) through St. Peter's Church in Huron. YES is a four-day service program and retreat for high school students. Teens will work in teams with adult volunteers to paint, clean, and repair homes for elderly and needy families in our community. Say YES to this awesome opportunity to have fun with your friends while living out your faith by serving others! Please click here for registration forms and more information. CONFIRMATION 2018
Next year's Confirmation date for current SCCS 7th grade students will be Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11:00am at Holy Rosary Cathedral in Toledo. Please note that this is the first Saturday after Easter and will fall on the last weekend of Easter Break next year.
 
SPRING COLLEGE NIGHT
Miss Howman will be hosting a spring college night May 10 at 6:30pm in the PPC. This will be similar to the meeting in the fall, but will include ways to maximize the summer vacation and prepare for the fall application season. Students and parents are welcome to attend.
