Breaking the cycle of poverty in EMMA and Beechwood
Thank you for joining us at the last meeting!
Thank you again to Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Church for hosting our last meeting! And thank you to those who were able to join us! It was great to see you! Below is some information to refresh your memory about the meeting or to fill you in if you weren't able to make it.
Debriefing about 2-1-1 presentation...
Miranda, the representative from 2-1-1, followed up the next day and wanted to share the following information with you:

Miranda's email:  mdebruyne@abvi-goodwill.com
2-1-1 website:  www.211lifeline.org

Additionally, below are links to the quarterly report (for the first quarter of 2017) and also a link to her powerpoint presentation for your viewing.
Did you find the 2-1-1 presentation informative?

No
I already knew all of that information
Other information from our last meeting...
Clean Sweep is THIS Saturday, May 6th. Call 3-1-1 for more information!

St Mark's and St John's have 4 gardens and they need volunteers! They also have a farmers market in the community and would like to establish 5 raised beds in the community (for homeowners who will be staying around and would be able to maintain the garden). If you would like to volunteer or know of a homeowner who would like a garden email  stmarksandstjohns@gmail.com.

Interested in mentoring youth? Mubarak from the Ahmadiyya Community is looking for people interested in mentoring youth 11-18 years old with Urban League of Rochester. Email Mubarak for more information,  mubarak.m.bashir@ahmadiyya.us.

Mothers in Need of Others (MINO MINISTRIES): if you are interested in finding out more about how your organization can partner or help with this initiative, contact Maria,  Mothersinneedofothers@gmail.com or at 585-348-8596.
Feedback on the speed-interviewing activity?
Should we repeat the speed-interviewing activity?
Yes, we should make that part of every meeting
Yes, but only once every few months
No, once was enough
Plans for May...
Thank you to Marilyn for a great suggestion!

Instead of a regular meeting, we would like the faith community to come together for a night of art and music on May 25th and support the students at East!

We are also planning to start the night off with a dinner at 5pm (provided by Connected Communities) at East High School. This will give us a chance to chat a bit before the concert and learn more about East (we are hoping to get someone from East to join us for this part).
Are you planning to attend?
LOCATION
East High School (exact room for dinner: TBD)

DATE AND TIME
05/25/17 5:00pm - 05/25/17 8:00pm

If you also have folks from your congregation that would like to attend, please email info@connectedcommunitiesroc.org by May 15th.
RSVP only for the dinner (5-6pm)
RSVP only for the concert (6pm+)
RSVP for dinner AND concert (5pm+)
Please RSVP by May 15th so that we can reserve seating at the concert and plan for how much food we need! (Please don't forget to also let us know if you are bringing guests from your congregation!)
Thank you!
Would you like to hear about Pathstone's foreclosure prevention program at our June meeting?
Yes, I would like that information
No, I don't think it will be helpful for the people I serve
