We Welcome Mrs. Thomas as Hayshire's New Assistant Principal
Mrs. Thomas is a perfect fit as our new assistant principal! She was the reading specialist for Hayshire. In addition, she taught third grade and served as an instructional support teacher and a literacy coach. As a reading specialist, she worked at the elementary and secondary levels. She is, also, the owner of Duke the trained therapy dog that has been visiting Hayshire to help children practice reading! Mrs. Thomas is a caring individual who will be helping work with all the Hayshire children in her new role.

Kindergarten Holiday Program by Blake Hotham, kindergarten student
My mom was watching me at the sing-along. My favorite part was singing with the grown-ups!

Kindergarten children walked through the Hayshire hallways singing holiday songs!

Our Hayshire Learners Love the STEM Activities
Ask your child what is a STEM activity. Our children are learning through hands-on, problem solving, fun activities! We even have a room set-up so classrooms can work together in an open space.

The Pancake Palooza
by Thomas Deardorff, Abigail Makowski, Jonas Doll, and Samuel Fair, Third Graders
The green hallway had a Pancake Palooza. The students brought in pancake mix/batter, syrup, sprinkles and chocolate chips. We sorted all of the donations into kits that included one of each item. These pancake kits were sent to the Panther Pantry to help our Central families! To celebrate, we all ate good pancakes. Mrs. Thomas, Mr. Zimmerman, and Mr. McNamara were our cooks and made our yummy pancakes. Kindergarten made the bags for the kits and first and second graders wrote how to make pancake directions to put in the bags. Thank you to all families that sent in pancake supplies!

We are Proud of our Reading Buddies!
Our reading buddies are AWESOME! Reading buddies work together to help practice reading. They receive special training from the reading specialists to become reading buddies. They celebrated together with a special holiday party!
