Ride Capital Metro to Pecan Street Festival
Sat., May 6

Capital Metro will provide extended hours for MetroRail on Saturday, May 6, to help alleviate traffic congestion into downtown during Pecan Street Festival.

MetroRail service will begin early Saturday, with the first southbound departure at 10:20 a.m. from Kramer Station. Service will be offered between the Lakeline and Downtown Stations, every 34 minutes, beginning at 11:08 a.m., with a final northbound downtown departure at midnight. MetroRail will not operate on Sunday.

Festival goers can also catch a ride to 6th Street using MetroRapid or any of the Local bus routes that serve downtown. MetroRapid routes share eight stations downtown, with two located adjacent to 6th Street. Both MetroRapid Routes 801 and 803 will run every 20-30 minutes throughout the weekend.

Capital Metro expects full vehicles during the festival. Collapsible strollers are welcome on board the buses and trains, provided they are folded and stowed during transit. Wagons and non-folding strollers are not allowed on board. When trains are at capacity and standing room only, bikes are limited to four per compartment (eight total per train). Capital Metro's buses have racks that hold three bikes each.

Riders can plan their trip using the Capital Metro Trip Planner, the CapMetro App, by calling the GO Line at 512-474-1200 or visiting capmetro.org/pecanstreet for specific schedules and fare information.
