Update from the Business and Member Services Administrator

Season's Greetings!  Thank you to all of our generous members, friends and neighbors for helping us exceed our Turkey & Extra Helpings food drive goal. We delivered groceries last Wednesday to fill food baskets for holiday meals for 50 families! In addition, we are able to donate additional $650 to Ascension School's food shelf. Know that your generosity is very much appreciated by all the families.

As you consider those last advanced donations for 2017, Mill City Commons would appreciate being among them! Checks need to be dated and postmarked no later than December 31 to be considered for a 2017 donation.

MILL CITY COMMONS: We learn. We share. We engage. We give.

He'll talk about individual cities across the state, with lots of data, photos and maps, and will welcome your comments on the recovery in those outstate communities you're familiar with.

Soon this makeshift family discovers that secrets and dark passions from the past threaten to tear them apart. Eventually, all three women must come to terms with the choices that have defined their lives before, during and after the war-each with their own unique share of challenges.

Around Town

National Theatre Live: Young Marx
January 1, 7:00 pm, St. Anthony Main Theatre, 115 Main St SE
1850, and Europe's most feared terrorist is hiding in Dean Street, Soho. Broke and restless, the thirty-two-year-old revolutionary is a frothing combination of intellectual brilliance, invective, satiric wit, and child-like emotional illiteracy. Creditors, spies and rival revolutionary factions all circle like vultures. His writing blocked, his marriage dying, his friend Engels in despair at his wasted genius, his only hope is a job on the railway. But there's still no one in the capital who can show you a better night than Karl Heinrich Marx. Learn more here.

Horace Cleveland and the Creation of the Minneapolis Parks System
January 6, 2:00-3:00 pm, Minneapolis Central Library, 300 Nicollet Mall
Horace W.S. Cleveland was the principal visionary in the creation of Mineapolis' famed park system. A contemporary and colleague to the creator of New York's Central Park, Cleveland saw the vital importance of park lands in the hectic urban landscape of the late 19th century and the need for open spaces to a crowded and rapidly growing population. Minneapolis Parks historian Dave Smith tells the story of Cleveland's far-sighted vision in the creation and development of one of the country's premier park systems.
