Time Capsule Information Wanted
The year was either 1976 or 1978. Do you remember a time capsule being buried in front of Lawrence Central High School? Where exactly was it buried? Who buried it? What was inside? Was it ever dug up? If you have any information about this time capsule, please contact Nancy Liss.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to bring alumni together, celebrating the past successes of our schools while supporting the future generations of Lawrence Township.

The end of the school year is upon us, and there are exciting ways to get involved with LTSF for those of us missing the days of summer vacations.

As the academic year concludes, join us in congratulating all of our students on a successful year, our honorees at the many student recognition banquets, and each of our seniors as they embark on their next journey as LT alumni. We know they will continue to make the district proud.

All of our senior athletes have enjoyed a successful, though wet season, and this month we're celebrating a special running trio who got their start in the LTSF sponsored Up & Running program! Feeling inspired to head out for a jog or just cheer on some runners? Catch many of our past and present Up & Running participants in the Geist Half on Saturday May 20th!

What better way to celebrate summer than to kick off June by hitting the links?   Don't miss the Foundation's 31st annual "Fore the Kids" Golf Outing on June 1st at Old Oakland Golf Club. Organize a friendly rivalry of LC/LN foursomes, grab a group of coworkers, or invite your friends to come out and support all the students in Lawrence Township. Click here for more information or to look into sponsorship opportunities for your business!

Whether you're celebrating a year since graduation or 60 years since graduation, we wish you a month of more wonderful LT memories. If you or former classmates have exciting news, please pass it along, and it may be included in a future newsletter.

Hope to hear from you soon!

Lawrence Township School Foundation Receives $500 Donation!
Thank you to LN Alum Arun Murali
 and  GroupOne Health Source

GroupOne volunteers at Amy Beverland Elementary on Indy DO Day 2016
Arun Murali and GroupOne Health Source submitted a video of LT volunteers hard at work on Indy DO Day 2016 to the Super Service Challenge. Thanks to their extra efforts, a $500 donation was made to the Lawrence Township School Foundation from the Super Service Challenge organization!

The Super Service Challenge, founded in 2011, is a nationwide movement to transform organizations through service. Driven by the idea that people and teams grow stronger when they join together to serve causes they care about, the Challenge promotes service by encouraging volunteerism, sharing stories of service, and awarding funding to nonprofits featured in stories of service.

Grown-"Up & Running"
Forest Glen Up & Running proud to claim 3 seniors who will run at collegiate level

Will Majercak
As LN student Will Majercak's first running coach, Jill Dempsey was thrilled when she received the text message that Will had committed to running Cross Country for the University of Dayton in the fall. Dempsey was particularly proud because Will was the third senior of Dempsey's original group to now commit to running at the collegiate level. This speedy trio includes two other students from the Lawrence North Class of 2017, Kyle Harris and Will Reid, joining the Butler University Class of 2021 and the University of Indianapolis Class of 2021 respectively.

    Will Reid                                                Kyle Harris

The three fell in love with running as students at Forest Glen Elementary in the Up & Running program that Dempsey helped mentor along with many other teachers and parents over the years. In his message to Dempsey, Will Majercak wrote, "I just wanted to thank you for being my first running coach way back when! I've loved it ever since then!"

The original trio!
The  Up & Running  program is an after school running club that increases fitness awareness among students and parents. The mission is to challenge students to experience the benefits of goal-setting, character development, adult mentoring and improved health by providing them with a true life-changing experience. The ultimate goal is to train three days a week and compete in a 5K run or half maratho n. Dempsey adds, "This program has helped so many kids feel the accomplishment of running a 5K...setting a BIG goal and reaching it."
