TCA Advocacy in Action: House Sets Sunset Bill

Hundreds of calls from TCA members and concerned citizens resulted in HB 2898 being set on the House calendar for Thursday May 11th. This is the last day the House can consider House bills.

Your advocacy efforts have helped TCA move and amend bills to better support professional school counselors. Get the latest TCA Advocacy Call to Action and Weekly Update and Bill Status Report. With just three weeks left in the session, things are moving quickly.

Provider Access to Medicaid Health Information

If you are a registered Medicaid provider in Texas, you have free access to an online portal, www.YourTexasBenefitsCard.com.

This portal aggregates data from the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) into one central hub for managed care and fee-for-service plans.

The portal will help patients and providers by reducing duplication of services, providing patients' current prescription medicines or serious health conditions and better coordinating patient care.
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has launched 60x30TX.com, a consumer-friendly web site that provides snapshots of data to key audiences, including legislators and their staff, media, students and families, business and industry and chambers of commerce.
The new web site offers hot topics, infographics, event information, videos and many other downloadable resources. It also features interactive data for each of the four student-centered 60x30TX goals that are focused on an educated population, completion, marketable skills and student debt.

The overarching goal of the 60x30TX plan is to strive for an educated population where 60 percent of the young adults ages 25-34 have a post secondary credential.
