Have you heard of Jeanne Robertson?
While posting our events in our network we found that she will be in Colorado Springs, Colorado in November 2017 (talk about a "Save the Date"). Her event description intrigued us and we checked out her website and YouTube videos. We felt the Jeanne Robertson was a perfect news highlight for Older Americans Month. By the way, her website lists her 2017 "Rocking Chair Tour." Visit her website and listen to some of her short videos.

And let's talk about Senior Activism in Government
We are putting a spotlight on a group in Colorado called Colorado Senior Lobby. Click around this group's website, newsletter, events and legislative updates. They have had members down at the Colorado State Capitol every week while the Colorado Legislature has been in session talking to legislators, their aides and testifying at bill hearings. Do you have a group like this in your state? What are you doing to help the needs of older adults to put local senior issues in front of your local elected officials? Did you know that a rewarding 'second act' can be in volunteerism or even a career in local politics? Learn more about Colorado Senior Lobby and look for a similar organization in your state. If you are in Colorado check out Colorado Senior Lobby.
