Volunteer Spotlight: Summer Wiedenbein

At Pets In Need, we love our volunteers! We rely on their time and talents to carry out our mission of helping pets.

Summer Wiedenbein recently joined the Pets In Need volunteer team to help in the clinic and any other areas needed. She was inspired to get involved by  an article she saw in Movers and Makers magazine. Summer says, "I think it is wonderful to provide people the opportunity to retain ownership of their beloved pets while still ensuring the health and well being of the animals. It is a 'WIN-WIN!'"

When Summer isn't at Pets In Need she loves to hike, try the latest restaurants, travel, and help her husband renovate/restore homes for resale.  Summer is completely in LOVE with her soon to be 17 year old Border Collie Mix, Charlie. "We adopted him from the SPCA and it was hands down one of our best decisions. He is so fun and teaches me a lot about life. He went blind about 5 years ago (could not be corrected) and he lives his life with such determination and joy! If a dog can inspire a human, he definitely inspires me.
