Use TeamQuest to Raise Awareness and Educate Your Donors

Your personal fundraising page is a great tool to debunk myths and misinformation about dyslexia. Re-purpose information on IDA's website on your fundraising page, in your emails, and on Facebook. Here's an example:

"Having a child diagnosed with dyslexia can be a traumatic experience. While dyslexia can make reading more difficult, with the right instruction, almost all individuals with dyslexia can learn to read. Many people with dyslexia have gone on to accomplish great things. Among the many dyslexia success stories are Thomas Edison, Stephen Spielberg, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Charles Schwab. Help the International Dyslexia Association provide the knowledge and tools teachers need to ensure the success of the next generation of Edisons by donating to my TeamQuest page today!"

"Dyslexia is a neurological condition caused by a different wiring of the brain. There is no cure for dyslexia and individuals with this condition must learn coping strategies. Research indicates that dyslexia has no relationship to intelligence. Individuals with dyslexia are neither more nor less intelligent than the general population. Some say the way individuals with dyslexia think can actually be an asset in achieving success. Here's an easy fundraiser to start today!

This Sunday, February 26, the Academy Awards will be on ABC. Use this ballot to start a simple fundraising campaign for the weekend! Ask your friends to donate $10 per ballot to guess who the Oscar will go to. Whoever has the most correct guesses will win half the money, and you keep the other half for TeamQuest.

You can edit the ballot to add your contact information then, photocopy the ballots and pass them out at work, school, and the gym, etc.

Promote your fundraiser on social media. Create your own Facebook post or go to www.Facebook.com/TQDyslexia and share our post about the Oscar Fundraiser on your page.

Email it to everyone you know. Folks can drop a check in the mail or hand deliver $10.

I am raising funds for TeamQuest Dyslexia and you can help. Buy a ballot for a 50/50 for the Academy Awards! Here's how it works:

Buy a ballot from me for just $10.00. You could buy one for your mom, your brother, or your neighbor! The more players - the bigger the pot!
Select your picks for each eligible category.
Make a copy and turn your ballot in by Sunday February 26th - 7:00 PM EST., you can scan them if I won't see you in person.
The person with the highest number of correct guesses on one ballot will win half of the pot, and will be announced on Monday, February 27th.
The other half of the funds will go to TeamQuest and the International Dyslexia Association to push our mission forward!
