Credential Financial makes significant donation to the Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada
Substantial pledge empowers marginalized people around the world to create their own path to financial stability.
Ottawa, Ontario, May 3, 2017 - The Co-operative Development Foundation of Canada (CDF) has received a generous donation from Credential Financial, the largest provider of wealth management services to Canada's credit unions.

Funds raised by CDF, mostly from Canadian co-operatives and co-op members, are used to alleviate poverty by building and strengthening financial and non-financial
co-ops in developing countries through a variety of programs.

"Credential Financial is committed to supporting communities in need through empowerment and development," said Doce Tomic, President & CEO of Credential Financial. "This gift of $45,000 over three years is a meaningful way for our organization to live out the co-operative principles and positively impact the lives of thousands of people around the world. We hope that our gift will also help motivate others to support CDF and the important work they do."

Credential Financial is a national wealth management firm created by a group of Canadian credit unions 25 years ago to serve the wealth needs of individual credit unions and their communities. Through dynamic corporate giving programs and a vibrant culture of community involvement and volunteerism, they are committed to empowering positive growth in the places their employees live and work.

With this generous gift, Credential Financial joins the many credit unions and co-ops across the country supporting CDF through financial contributions and volunteered staff time.

"We applaud Credential Financial for taking its core values to the global stage," said Michael Casey, Executive Director, CDF and the Canadian Co-operative Association. "This money will go a long way to helping families in Africa, Asia and the Americas employ time-tested tools of co-operation to improve their life circumstances."
