Marlo and Vivian adopted an abandoned Chihuahua mix named Bella four months ago. Since then, both agree that life has improved substantially for them, as she’s become a regular part of their daily routine. “It’s hard to get by living solely on Social Security income,” says Vivian, “but having Bella encourages us to get out of the house, stay active, and enjoy life so much more.”
Bella loves going out for walks and often gets too excited for her own good! PetAid’s next equipment campaign is to help the Community Outreach program support a growing number of clinics. With this expansion comes an increased need for items ranging from stethoscopes used during wellness exams to a printer for distributing medical records on-site. With the number of underserved pets increasing as income disparities widen, there is clearly a larger demand for PetAid’s Community Outreach and we are committed to responding to this need.

PetAid’s Community Outreach program cares for nearly 500 pets each year belonging to seniors, individuals with disabilities, the homeless, and others who are unable to access veterinary services for their pets in a traditional clinic setting. The program holds wellness and vaccine clinics free of charge in economically challenged communities across the Denver metro corridor, and offers additional subsidies for pets requiring follow-up medical procedures at PetAid Animal Hospital.
