On April 5, 2017, the District and EE Negotiations Teams met for their second negotiation session of the spring season. The Teams continued discussion and reached agreement on the mutual language issue of the current Plan Time Memorandum of Understanding. S osan Schaller gave a presentation to the Teams on the current financial standing of the District and an early financial projection for next year. The Teams then used the Interest-Based process to reach agreement on the EE interest around evaluation and expect to sign a Tentative Agreement on this issue at the next negotiation session. Following this discussion, the Teams began discussion of story and interests on District's issue of Sick Leave Bank, generating Story, Interests, and Options for this language item.

The next negotiation session is scheduled for April 25, 2017.

The 6th Annual Restorative Practices in Schools Summer Training Institute will be held on June 12-21, 2017 at Twin Peaks Charter Academy in Longmont Colorado. Last year's Summer Institute was very successful and we had people from a variety of states, schools, and locations.

Implementing restorative practices is about supporting the hearts and minds of your students, teachers, staff, and parents so they are focused on strengthening and repairing relationships to establish and maintain healthy and productive learning communities. The focus isn't just on discipline and responding to behavior concerns. The focus must also be on building connections as a way to prevent problems from occurring in the first place.

From every day tools for the classroom to school and district-wide implementation strategies, learn about how to achieve dramatic results with Restorative Practices.
