CVTC Students Present SCVH with a Little Free Library
On April 21st, a group of six students at Chippewa Valley Technical College - River Falls presented SCVH with a Little Free Library. The students gave short presentation about Habitat for Humanity and SCVH. A huge thank you to these students for considering SCVH for this project!
About the project: As part of her Oral/Interpersonal Communication class, Karen Jubie wanted to do something unique with her students for a group project. She decided to use a little motivation from her husband, Tim Jubie, and the Little Free Library (LFL) project the two Luther dealerships in Hudson sponored in 2015.
With a donation from Luther Hudson Chevrolet, Karen was able to purchase five Free Library kits and her 82 year-old dad helped cut pine plywood boards into the specified dimensions so the Residential Construction students could put together one "from scratch."
From this group project, the students were to meet two course objectives: 1) Contribute as a group or team member, and 2) Deliver an oral presentation. The students had to work together to decide on an organization to present the LFL to, learn about the organization, build the LFL, and stock the library with books.
The Little Free Library will be placed outside the WeBuild Center in River Falls. Check it out along with all the others around the area.
