May 2017- A Month of Gratitude
Greetings!
   
      Happy May!  To say that we are grateful for all the wonderful people and events that have come  
our way this month is an understatement.  We have had new volunteers arrive, seasonal volunteers return, and have also been the recipient of wonderful donations as the result of two fundraising events.  In addition, we would like to thank The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod and Cleangreen for their continued support.   Many thanks to all!


Did You Know?
Eighty-five percent of people living in nursing homes rarely have a visitor and 60% never have a visitor?  Help us reach out to this forgotten population.  Your tax deductible charitable donation will help Flower Angels USA continue this important mission.  100% of donations benefit the wonderful people of Cape Cod.

A big thank you goes to Megan Murphy and her Kindness Rock Project for selecting and raising funds for  Flower Angels at her recent event at Chatham Bars Inn. Several of our Flower Angels attended the event and enjoyed participating!

Recently we received a lovely thank you note from one of our many recipients.  It is worth sharing with all of you who support our mission . 

Dear Flower Angels,
     The old English adage says, " Waste Not, Want Not" which applies to you.  We the residents say, "It is pure joy to be remembered and yours is in giving. We are grateful for your thoughtfulness." The flowers in the small containers are lovely and not wasted. We shall enjoy them for some time. Thank you.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT
     A HUGE thank you to Bob Brodeur  (Robert Brodeur Printing Co.) in Dennis Village for his kindness and generosity. We are so grateful for his ongoing volunteerism helping with the compost and dump runs. He is our special angel. He generously printed  all of our donation appeal letters, remittance envelopes and mailing envelopes.  He is proof that there are many ways to volunteer and help.

Rally the Alleys hosted by Habitat for Humanity and Ryan Amusements was a fun evening and loved by all! Thank you Clean Green, Cape Cod Cooperative Bank, our Flower Angel sponsors and courageous bowlers, Subway of South Yarmouth, Not Your Average Joes, and Stop and Shop. Our amazing Flower Angel bakers  provided an entire table of delicious treats made with love.

     On Thursday, April 13th, Denise Barker, the wonderful photographer who shot our Flower Angels Calendar for us, took pictures of the beautiful bouquets our talented designers create.  These photos will be printed on notecards that will be sold as a fundraiser  for Flower Angels. Here is a sample of what to expect. Our Flower Angels are so creative!
