SCARS & STARS MUD RUN
Ready to get dirty? The 2nd Annual Stars & Scars Mud Run is scheduled to kick-off on May 20, 2017 at 8 am. The run is expected to bring a few hundred runners to the 5K & 10K starting gate.
The start-up event yielded 167 runner for a first-time run last year with competition for award placement in numerous age and team categories. This year the runner attendance is expected to increase based on runner testimonials and return registrants from last year. Rabbit Creek ATV Park, located at 1217 Post Oak Road in Kilgore, is the site for one of the dirtiest, muddiest and toughest obstacle course runs in the region and East Texas.
In addition to the 5K/10K, the Mud Run will offer a Team 5K. A team may consist of 5-10 runners with the top 5 scores being taken to determine the overall Mud Run Team winner. Businesses, families, and groups are encouraged to join the fun and run as a team. This is a great way to build teamwork within a group or business.
The Mud Run organizers are seeking runners, vendors, sponsorships and volunteers. Information on registration, sponsorships and vendor sign-up can be found at
www.starsandscarsmudrun.com.
You may register online or download a form to complete and return to the Kilgore Chamber of Commerce. Also look for us (Kilgore Chamber) on Facebook, like the event and keep posted on the upcoming event.
