National Home Improvement Month
Spring has sprung! Hopefully you are finishing up that dreaded, yet necessary, spring cleaning and ready to focus on having some fun! In addition to being National Barbecue Month (get out your favorite grilling recipes), May is also National Home Improvement Month—a perfect time of year to start planning that much needed home remodel you've been dreaming about.
Spend some time thinking about the functionality of your kitchen, outdoor living space, or even your bathroom. Where could a remodel make the most significant difference to you and your family?
According to Remodeling Magazine's Cost vs. Value report, key home improvement trends in 2017 reveal that some of the more expensive projects—the upscale bathroom remodel, upscale master suite, two-story addition, grand entrance and family room—are seeing the biggest year-over-year percentage increase in value, particularly in Fort Myers.
Whether you're in Florida or away, if you have a remodeling wish list for your home, grab a pen and paper and start writing your ideas down. It may seem overwhelming at first, but mapping out your project is a great way to get started. Our creative design team is more than happy to help you ask the right questions about what you want and need in your home.
To assist you further, we've provided some design inspiration and home remodeling tips below. Enjoy!

Home Remodeling Essentials: Do's and Don'ts (Part I)
|
In today’s real estate market, remodeling your home is one of the wisest decisions you can make. Even remodeling select rooms can significantly increase the value of your property. Studies show that the return on investment for a remodeling project can net up to 78% if you should decide to sell your home. For many people, though, remodeling is simply a more affordable option than purchasing a newer property.
Remodeling can be a daunting task for any homeowner. At Progressive Builders, we understand that the remodeling process can be overwhelming and confusing, especially when it comes to choosing the right contractor, selecting a style, and establishing and sticking to a budget. But we also know that, with the proper preparation, remodeling can be fun and exciting!
Part II of Home Remodeling Essentials: 10 Do’s & Don’ts arrives next month.

A Family-Friendly Kitchen Renovation in Bonita Springs, FL
|
Home is where the heart is for the Paskus family. That is why an open, inviting area was at the heart of their kitchen remodel—fit for entertaining large groups of people. Only limited by the family’s need to keep the existing floor tile, Progressive Design Build utilized the existing footprint of the kitchen, but gave the space a much more open, airy feeling by removing a large bank of upper cabinets that divided the space.
We satisfied our client’s need for entertaining family and friends by incorporating a dry bar into the kitchen design that also included a wine fridge.
The open floor plan required a natural, blended transition between the kitchen and the living area. We used matching granite countertops, subway tile, and glass upper cabinets with under cabinet lighting. In the main kitchen, white subway tile was installed as a backsplash throughout the kitchen, extending to the island under the hi-top counter. Finished end panels on the cabinets were also used to give the kitchen a finished look.

Progressive Builders Keeps Hope Alive Participating in Relay For Life of Fort Myers -
Raises $8,371 for the American Cancer Society
|
Progressive Builders’ team of volunteers this year raised
$8,371 (and roughly 138 volunteer hours) in loving memory of those who lost their battle against cancer and in the defiant spirit of fighting back and keeping hope alive. Fundraising dollars came from cash donations that were solicited from friends, family and business associates. They also set up a grilling station at the event selling sausage and meatball sandwiches, soda, water, and cookies to attendees; and sold raffle tickets for an Aeroponic Growing System Garden Tower and a gift certificate to Chang N Faces beauty salon in Cape Coral.
Thank you to all of you who contributed to this wonderful cause, helping us keep hope alive.
