Dozens of readers recognized this Northwest landmark. Go up Mount Rainier, and you would find the Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center; or at least you would have from 1966 to 2008. The building was replaced, but the new structure is also named after the late U.S. Senator.

Workshop 2: Family: Records & Sources

A practical overview for genealogists, historians and other family researchers. 
We will talk about the importance of using more than just birth, marriage and death records to tell a story.  We'll cover the importance of the FAN principle, researching the whole family and not just your straight/direct line.  Context is everything, letting the records tell a story of the person or family you are researching.

Property of the Month:  Capitol Hill Cold Case

On the night of October 6, 1935, the body of 7-year-old Sally Jean Kelley was found in an unused garage in the Capitol Hill area of Seattle. She was last seen by a janitor of the nearby Ben Lomond apartments, where she was visiting her grandmother, but failed to respond to calls to dinner. She had been seen earlier in the evening at the Garfield Drug Store a block away. Police detained a 65-year-old Russian monk for 10 days, during which he was questioned by King County Prosecutor Warren Magnuson, but ultimately he was released. The case remains unsolved.
