Party @ THE PARK
First Ave. Linear Park Demonstration Project to Open May 17

Experience THE PARK and all of its incredible amenities at the official Grand Opening of our First Avenue Linear Park Demonstration Project on Wednesday, May 17.

The first-of-its-kind Linear Park is a unique collaboration between KOP-BID (a private, not-for-profit business improvement district), UMT, PennDOT and 21 private property owners to create an active and vibrant amenity open to the public, utilizing access easements on private property.

PARTY @ THE PARK
Join us for an afternoon of live music, food trucks (all items under $10) and outdoor dining from 11 AM-1 PM on Wednesday, May 17 (rain date May 18) to celebrate the Grand Opening of THE PARK! FREE for all to attend. Ribbon cutting at 11:15 AM.

THE PARK's Demonstration Project is funded, in part, by a grant from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority provided through UMT and managed by KOP-BID, along with matching funds from Brandywine Realty Trust and KOP-BID.

PHASE ONE: DESIGN PROCESS FOR FULL LINEAR PARK
The Demonstration Project is just the beginning of THE PARK. Over the next few months, KOP-BID will continue to work with the project's landscape architects at Ground Reconsidered and engineers at Pennoni to finalize designs for Phase One. This segment of THE PARK will continue the multi-use path, pedestrian solar lighting and accessible features found in the Demonstration Project to 15 more parcels along both sides of First Avenue. Construction is slated to begin on Phase One in 2018.

dineKOP Raises $13,500 for CHOP
Most Successful Year to Date for KOP Restaurant Week!

KOP-BID's popular dineKOP restaurant week returned March 6-12, 2017 to its most successful year to date. With 23 participating restaurants and thousands of customers taking part in the discounted lunch and dinner menus this year, on behalf of dineKOP restaurants, KOP-BID was honored to present the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia's (CHOP) King of Prussia Specialty Care & Surgery Center with a check for $13,500!

Since the creation of dineKOP, KOP-BID has partnered with CHOP's KOP Center to offer diners the opportunity to dine out for a good cause. In the last three years, dineKOP has raised $37,000 for the KOP Center.

"We're incredibly thankful to all of our restaurants and sponsors that help make this event possible," said Eric Goldstein. "We look forward to an even bigger dineKOP next year, as KOP continues to welcome exciting new restaurants to our community."

The Magic of KOP For Retailers & Restaurateurs
Name Recognition, Location and a Business-Friendly Community

King of Prussia Town Center
(c) The JBG Companies
In 2016, KOP welcomed 57 new retailers and restaurants. Alone that statistic is impressive. But break the numbers down even more to see that more than half (31 to be exact) of the retailers and restaurants on the list opened their first U.S., East Coast or Pennsylvania location right here in KOP!

In a recent Philadelphia Inquirer article, writer Suzette Parmley notes that "when foreign retailers want to make a good first impression in America, they often choose one place: King of Prussia Mall."

And while King of Prussia Mall continues to attract luxury and first-to-market retailers and restaurants, companies are now looking at all of KOP as a desirable location for their business. From Duluth Trading Co.'s first East Coast store on DeKalb Pike to The Halal Guys first PA location in the Valley Forge Shopping Center and more than a dozen hot spots at the King of Prussia Town Center, KOP has become the ideal test market for companies.

KEY FACTORS FOR SUCCESS
  • Name Recognition | KOP is synonymous with retail and dining. Companies feel confident that their customers will know the area and location because of KOP's reputation.
  • Location | KOP is easily accessible for leisure visits and overnight travelers, allowing for incredible foot traffic 7 days a week.
  • Business-Friendly | UMT officials strive to create a healthy environment for companies to succeed in the Township, while KOP-BID provides support as companies mark their first location in PA or the country.
In 2017, KOP is poised to welcome even more first-to-market retailers and restaurants. Opening soon, include:
  • Bluestone Lane | First in-mall location
  • Choolaah Indian BBQ | First PA location
  • Founding Farmers | First PA location
  • Habit Burger | First PA location
  • J. Alexander | First PA location
  • Muse Paint Bar | First PA location
  • Orchestra | First US location
  • True Food Kitchen | First PA location
What Should KOP's Future Include
KOP-BID Conducts Survey to Gauge Awareness & Insight

From February 23-March 16, 2017, KOP-BID conducted a digital survey to measure awareness, understanding and approval of KOP-BID and initiatives planned for KOP, in addition to future projects important to survey respondents.

Key insights gained from the 1,039 responses will help drive KOP-BID plans for future initiatives, events and projects. KOP-BID will release the full findings from the survey in June but some of the important questions asked in the survey included:
  • How would you grade the KOP of today vs. the KOP of 2010?
  • What would you like to see more of in KOP?
  • What would you change about KOP?
  • What do you value most about KOP?
