The Last 26 Days of School at Pleasantdale!
Dear Parents,
Believe it or not, the school year is coming to an end. We hope this continues to be a fantastic school year for your child. As a fun way of celebrating the last weeks of school, we will be doing an "End of the Year ABC Countdown." Each school day will have a different activity depending on the letter of the day. Your child may need to bring certain things on various days. This year we are dedicating our ABC Countdown to Mr. Vandercar!! This sheet (
click here) will help your child remember what day in the "countdown" we are on. We hope your child enjoys his/her last days!
Sincerely,
The Pleasantdale Student Council

The Power of Team Work
Most people have heard the acronym for TEAM, Together Everyone Achieves More. I was struck by the overwhelming truth of this statement as I enjoyed the Pleasantdale Middle School spring pep assembly this past Tuesday.

Raising Money for Conservation Efforts
Students and staff wore orange t-shirts on April 22 to celebrate Earth Day. Over $600 was raised and will go towards Spikey, the endangered turtle in Ms. Carnes' classroom. He is with Pleasantdale Middle for two years on a loan from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

Talent Show Tryouts
Our annual talent show is right around the corner and students in grades 5-8 can show off their skills on stage. It is always a wonderful event to be a part of and we are hoping you can try out!
Tryouts are either May 8th or May 11th after school in the APR from 3:30-4:30pm. Students should come prepared with all props, music, instruments, etc. and the final list of participants will be posted by May 12th. The show is June 5th. The tryouts are not open to the public, but we love to have a big cheering section on the big day. If you need some ideas please see Mr. Ratcliff or Ms. Carnes.
