Getting Involved
One of the greatest strengths of the CDP is the involvement of people like you in the work we do to support small businesses and create more affordable homes here on the Lower Cape. You help us make a difference!

The CDP programs and services have all been designed to respond to the needs of our community thanks to the active work of volunteers. I want to tell you more about some of the opportunities we have available to get involved.

Share your expertise! Our volunteer Board of Directors and Advisory Council guide us by sharing their knowledge. Through participation on program committees and on the Board, they add tremendous value the the organization. And it's a great opportunity to expand your network. We have a few open seats on our Board of Directors and we are interested in adding members to our Advisory Council. If you would like to learn more, I'd welcome hearing from you.

Walk the Walk! July 10th, 11th & 12th the CDP will take part in the 25th Annual Bob Murray Housing with Love Walk. We are looking for businesses to sponsor the event and for volunteers to walk with us. In these capacities, you are helping us raise awareness and much needed funds for our housing initiatives here at the CDP.

Join us! And on August 23rd, we will celebrate our 25th Anniversary at our Summer Evening on the Farm Event at Halcyon Farm in Brewster. Please save the date and plan to join us for a memorable evening in this beautiful setting.

I hope the stories featured this month will inspire you to get involved in helping us to create opportunities for people to live, work and thrive on the Lower Cape.
Don't hesitate to connect with me to learn more.

As always, thank you for your interest and support.

Jay - short

Safe, Stable, & Affordable Housing
Meet Wayne Clark

When Wayne Clark returned to the Cape after being away for 14 years, it was under difficult circumstances. He had recently been released from a hospital in Connecticut, struggling with alcohol addiction. Working on his sobriety, he was attending AA meetings. It was there that someone referred him to Canal House. After applying and being accepted, he entered and lived there for a year.
Strong Local Businesses
Is your product ready for market?

If you have a food product that's too good not to be shared, we have a resource for you. Our upcoming two-day workshop, "Bringing your Food Product to Market", is brimming with useful tips. Learn from the experts about research and development; packaging and labeling; health and safety and more. And hear first-hand experiences from local business owners at various stages of growing their own food based businesses. Don't wait any longer - time to get that product to market! Learn more and register.
A Sustainable Future
Water, water everywhere

We recently came across this unique tool that helps you estimate your water usage. The tool was developed by Grace Communications Foundation. The value is that it provides the user with a snapshot of how daily activities impact water use. The process involves answering a series of specific questions, each including informative bites of information. And at the end, you receive an analysis with some useful tips for how you might use less. It's pretty eye-opening. Try it out yourself.
