   Welcome

We are pleased to welcome our newest participant: State Farm Insurance-Agent Howard Blumberg in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Are you planning any energy-efficiency or water conservation projects in the coming months?  Doing upgrades to lighting or heating/cooling systems? We can help with free project assistance!  Contact us and we can help facilitate rebates and connect you with the most current incentive programs.

Are you interested, but not sure where to start?  If you provide your energy data (one month's gas and electric bill), we can see if you qualify for an energy audit and other programs.  Contact us at 310-371-7222 or [email protected].

Upgrade Business Equipment With
On-Bill Financing from
Southern California Edison and SoCalGas

Southern California Edison's On-Bill Financing (OBF) program can help you by financing the qualifying energy-efficiency projects for your business.  If you qualify, you would repay the loan in monthly installments which would be added as a line item on your bill.  Through OBF, you can fund your qualified energy efficiency project for zero interest and no fees, reduce your monthly electricity usage, and receive financial incentives for installing qualifying energy-efficient equipment.  Learn more here.

In conjunction with its energy-efficiency rebate and incentive programs, SoCalGas is offering qualified customers zero-percent, unsecured loans to finance the purchase and installation of eligible energy-efficiency upgrades.

Program Benefits include:
  • Loans are interest-free, unsecured and non-transferable.
  • There is no penalty for early repayment.
  • Monthly repayments are billed on your utility bill.

Valuable Commercial Water Rebates

Rebates are currently available for premium high-efficiency toilets, urinals, irrigation controllers, sprinkler nozzles, food equipment and more!

Rebate Spotlight: Air-Cooled Ice Machines

New air-cooled ice machines use less energy and water and make ice more quickly and efficiently.  SoCal Water$mart now offers an incentive for the purchase and installation of an air-cooled ice machine which is replacing an existing water-cooled unit or for
new projects requiring ice-machines.  Find more info here

Volunteer Opportunity with SBESC
Photo: Volunteers being recognized at November 2016 SBCCOG Board Meeting.

The South Bay Environmental Services Center (SBESC), a program of the South Bay Cities Council of Governments (SBCCOG), has volunteer opportunities!   Volunteers not only work on programs to help residents and businesses conserve energy and wat er but support conservation efforts in the South Bay community that help our cities meet state goals.

Volunteer activities range from in-office support work to community outreach providing environmental information that can directly influence behavior and choices.  Volunteers develop relationships and have one-on-one interactions, making this opportunity perfect for those who like working with people and making a difference.

Our next Volunteer Training class is scheduled for June 1, 2017.  Act today - so you can be a part of the next training and support sustainability in the South Bay.  Contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Martha Segovia, at 310-371-7222 for more information. Complete a volunteer application at here.
