Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week!
Thank You For Keeping Families Close
A Message from our CEO
Lori Kleiman Honoree, Jean Zimpfer (left),  and RMHCCIN CEO, Michelle Study-Campbell.
Volunteer, Leah Shubert, accepts award for
35 years of volunteer service at RMHCCIN.

Happy Volunteer Appreciation Week! Volunteers are truly the heart of our House. Last year alone, our volunteers contributed nearly 36,000 hours preparing meals, doing projects around the House and checking in guests! On Sunday, we kicked off our week of gratitude with our Annual Volunteer Celebration at the beautiful Marrott. A special congratulations to those celebrating anniversaries this year and to our Lori Kleiman Award winners: Jean Zimpfer and Lori Ball.

We certainly could not keep more than 5,000 families close each year without the help of our hard-working and dedicated volunteers. To all of our RMHCCIN volunteers, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Be sure to check out photos of the event here!

Adopt-A-Room Partner Spotlight: The O'Connor and Schulhof Family

The Adopt-a-Room program is a year- long sponsorship of a room or continuing care  apartment at our Limestone and Riley Houses. The program provides families with much more than just a roof over their heads -- it helps to provide support, home-cooked meals and relief from their stressful situations. Most importantly, room partners are helping families focus on what matters most -- their seriously-ill or injured child.

This month, we would like to take a moment to say thank you to Alicia Schulhof & Patrick O'Connor and Tuck & Sandy Schulhof for their support.

" My family and I celebrate the opportunity to help keep families together through our room sponsorship.  As the mom of four little ones, it is comforting to know that when I am tucking my kids in at night, a parent with a child in need can do the same.  Being close together is security -- it helps heal the heart and research is showing it helps the body heal faster, too!" - Alicia Schulhof, Sr. VP of Continuous Process Improvement at Indiana University Health and RMHCCIN Board Vice President.
Want to Be a Part of The House That Love Built?

Volunteers make a difference in the lives of the more than 5,000 families that we serve every year - by listening, nurturing and by simply being there, you can help support the parents and family members who stay with us while their children receive treatment at Indianapolis-area hospitals. Donating your time and talent to the Ronald McDonald House can be a rewarding experience and a real gift to the families staying at the House. Whether you are looking for an ongoing commitment or want to share a special gift or talent on a short-term basis, there is a way for you to make a difference at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Indiana!

We are in need of volunteers for the following positions:
  • Guest Services (3 hour commitment, once every 2 weeks)
  • Van Driver
  • Bingo Callers
  • Family Activities and Projects (game nights, craft nights, etc.)
