JOIN US FOR LUNCH!

Come to a free town hall on lawsuit abuse at the California Citizens Against Lawsuit Abuse (CALA) Small Business Summit featuring Senator Anthony Portantino (D-25) on June 9th, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. at Barney's Beanery Restaurant in Pasadena.

While in the Assembly, Senator Portantino made his mark by leading public policy decisions based on important issues happening in his district.  He now wants to learn more about how unwarranted lawsuits are affecting small businesses and the jobs they create.

California Citizens Against Lawsuit supporters and friends are invited to share their experiences concerning lawsuit abuse with the Senator.  Over the past 24 years, CALA has diligently and successfully fought for reforms to end abusive and frivolous lawsuits which so often clog our courts, restrain our state's growth and cost jobs.  We spearheaded the "Yes on Prop 64 Campaign to Stop Shakedown Lawsuits."  We have been at the forefront of reforms to end abuse of the Americans With Disabilities Act.  We are supporting reforms to Proposition 65, Wage and Hour Violations and the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).

Complimentary lunch will be provided.
Why Create Jobs, Not Lawsuits

Abusive lawsuits and abuse of our courts continue to be key drivers of the problems plaguing our economy. Lawsuit abuse puts small companies out of business, raises health care costs for every day citizens, and costs jobs. Public sector lawsuits cost taxpayers money and deprive them of vital services that are instead spent on legal costs.

The time is now for individuals from across California, victims of lawsuit abuse and leaders of the legal reform movement to come together and make their voices heard.
