Greetings from Children's Ministry!

This Sunday, April 30, is Children's Sunday. The kids will be leading the unified worship service at 11:15 AM and we hope you can join us. During the service, the third graders will be reciting memory verses and receiving Bibles and the fifth graders will be answering faith questions. Each 5th grader selected their question and they include:

-    What is your favorite Bible story and why?
-    How has knowing Jesus changed how you interact with          others?
-    Who is Jesus?

Last Sunday during Sunday School, the fifth graders were practicing their answers in the Sanctuary. I was honestly blown away by the depth and spiritual maturity of some of the answers. I have been at the church for eight years now and have known many of these kids from when they were in preschool. I cannot describe to you how much I love seeing Christ working in their lives and how many of them are learning to follow after Him on a daily basis.

This year, Amy Sarkett wrote and taught an amazing eight week study for our second through fifth graders on worship and communion. The kids learned at length why we celebrate communion and its significance. At the end of the study, kids interested in taking communion met with me and a small subset of Elders to answer questions about communion and to make sure they truly understood and were ready to receive it. We met with 24 individual kids. Based on the timing of when we did the communion interviews, many kids took communion for the first time on Maundy Thursday. Tears filled my eyes as I watched the kids coming forward, realizing how incredible God's timing was and not our planning, that many of these kids were taking communion for the first time on the day that we remember Jesus first offering us of the bread and wine. God's timing is perfect...and it reminded me of how God's timing is also perfect in the lives of the children. I love seeing how God is drawing the kids into a relationship and calling them to be His followers.

God is doing so much in Children's Ministry, but rather than just describing it here, come see for yourself this week. It's always fun to watch the adorable kids on Children's Sunday, but it's so much more than that. Please come on Sunday to see how God is changing the lives of these children. Come to celebrate and worship our amazing Father, who calls us even at a young age to follow after Him, leaving us forever changed for His glory.

In Christ,
