Automate tasks with the IFTTT App!

While not limited to business-related tasks, the  free IFTTT app (If This, Then That) is capable of automating menial tasks that one just can't be bothered to do.  For example, IFTTT can log how many hours a day you spend working in Google Calendar.  Another cool example is being able to automatically log payments made via Sqaure to a Google Spreadsheet doc.  There are many possibilities with this app, and it doesn't require any interaction aside from setting up the tasks themselves.

This app is available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store

"My biggest motivation? Just to keep challenging myself. I see life almost like one long University education that I never had- everyday I'm learning something new."
Book Review:
"The $100 Startup"
By New York Times
Bestselling Author,
Chris Guillebeau

In The $100 Startup, Chris Guillebeau shows you how to lead of life of adventure, meaning and purpose - and earn a good living. Here are  3 take-aways from this book:

1. When you make business about helping others, you'll have plenty of work.

2. Effective marketing is based on invitation, not persuasion.

3. Guillebeau provides several comprehensive checklists and planning tools to help build your business.   Examples include Six Steps to Getting Started Right Now, the One-Page Partnership Agreement, and the Thirty-Nine Step Product Launch Checklist.

This book primarily focuses on moving past the barriers that we place in front of our goals. These barriers (not enough money, knowledge, experience, demand, etc.) make it easy for us to not go into business, preventing us  from failing. However, this  self-protective instinct automatically causes us to not succeed either. The book encourages a quick, no-holds-barred start-up, because the leap is what is often the most difficult. Overall, a solid, motivating read for those looking to start up a business .
