Dear Tournament Capital Volunteers,
Another April session of the Legacy Performance Games have passed and we could not be happier with the great turn out and enthusiasm for the games this year! Partnering with RugbyFest and including them under our Legacy Games umbrella proved to be a great addition to our games, and has ensured RugbyFest will continue to grow in our community, a tournament we would not want to see Kamloops loose.Thank you to everyone to helped make this weekend a success!

UPCOMING VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES IN KAMLOOPS!

We are excited to be working with the Special Olympics again this year to bring the SOBC SUMMER GAMES July 6th- 8th 2017. We will be hosting eleven sports in the city, 5 pin bowling, 10 pin bowling, athletics, basketball, bocce, golf, power lifting, rhythmic gymnastics, soccer, softball and swimming. 
Volunteering with Special Olympics BC Games is a rewarding and FUN opportunity to make a difference through the power of sport, with a wide range of available roles. Online volunteer registration is now open for our 2017 Provincial Games!  Visit  sobcgameskamloops.ca  and click "Volunteer". 


The 2017 River City Realty Spring Sprint & Kids of Steel Triathlon
The Kamloops Spring Sprint is KTC's longest running race in Kamloops, now run from the outdoor pool in Brock. They are always looking for volunteers to help with race planning, setup, race day tasks, and take down. Without volunteers, this race would not be successful.

KAMLOOPS ADULT LEARNERS SOCIETY NEEDS YOU!

The Kamloops Adult Learners Society is searching for 5 new board memb e rs needed to keep KALS functioning. This is a great community group offering low cost  engaging classes/courses to seniors in the Kamloops area.

Volunteers Needed For Kamloops Ridge Runners upcoming Blackwell Dairy 3km and 15km Race 

The Kamloops Ridge Runners are looking for volunteers for their upcoming Blackwell Dairy Race on May 28th. The following roles are available:

16 people for traffic control on course.
  6-8 people for water stations (3-4 per station)
  4 people for lead/sweep cyclists (1 lead and 1 sweep per)
  3-5 people f or equipment pick-up and/or drop-off
  2-4 people for course set-up
  4-8 people for race day registration and bib pick-up
2-3 people for food prep and prizes

Game Day Vol unteers for the Kamloops Broncos


The Kamloops Broncos are looking for game day volunteers for the following positions  during this years football season!

Merchandise tent : 2 positions - Sales of Kamloops Broncos apparel, and collection of merchandise orders (cash, and credit transactions).
 
Front gate: 4 positions - ticket sales/season ticket sales, main gate entry may include bag checks, money transactions, entry stamps and ticket tearing.
 
Beer Garden: 2 positions -Sale of liquor. (Serving it Right required).

TOURNAMENT CAPITAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
The Tournament Capital Volunteer Program is a Sports Council initiative aimed at providing recognition to the many volunteers who contribute so much to our community throughout the year. Draws have happen on a monthly basis until Volunteer Week at the end of April, where we gave away prizes to 6 volunteers! 

The six lucky winners have their choice of a Tournament Capital Volunteer 3/4 zip pull over, jacket or bag. The names have been drawn and our winners for Volunteer Week are:

Thank you to everyone who has put in volunteer hours over the last year, the community of Kamloops is so lucky to have so many dedicated people helping make all our events successful!

We will empty our draw barrel and start collecting names for another year. In order to be eligible all you have to do is volunteer at an event that the Kamloops Sports Council manages the volunteers for- it's that easy! Upcoming events include the 2017 Special Olympic BC Summer Games, 2017 Ribfest and the 2017 BrewLoops Beer & Bike Festival.... just to name a few!

Bike Relay & Beer is happening on June 11th 
at Kenna Cartwright park in Kamloops.
