Take Stock In Children Palm Beach County has Urgent Need of Mentors
Kimberly of Take Stock says:
Our Glades students did awesome this year with great meetings with mentors, and club meetings with their coaches. However,
we have 5 students that do not have a mentor and they have not had mentor for quite sometime now. I must match these students immediately or they can lose their scholarship. If you can take on another student if you are graduating a student, or if you can take on a second student or if you can refer a friend, coworker, or community supporter to mentor, please send me their contact information and I will be sure to contact them right away. Let me know how you can help. I have 4 males and 1 female without mentors. I appreciate any assistance you can give. If I have several new mentors, I can do a training in Belle Glade

Catholic Charities Pahokee Counseling Program Accepting New Clients
The Catholic Charities Counseling Program, with an office in Pahokee, provides professional counseling and therapy for adults, children, families, and couples in five locations serving five counties. The team of therapists address issues such as marital/relationship discord, child and family dynamics, depression, loneliness, grief and loss, anxiety, stressful relationships, child and adolescent problems and other life stressors. Our team of counselors are all highly qualified clinicians with a minimum of a master's degree who are dedicated to providing the best services possible to the community. In an effort to better serve the community, we have bilingual (Spanish, French, Dutch, Italian, and German) counselors available at various locations, including Pahokee. In an effort to serve all clients, including those with financial hardship, the counseling program offers its services to clients on a sliding scale based on their household income. The counseling program strives to make counseling services accessible and affordable to the Glades community.

Legislation - Our Neighbors Need Your Help Today
I wanted to bring to your attention a few bills that are being sent to the senate for vote. These bills will have negative repercussions for our clients.
The first bill is House Bill 23. This bill is seeking to revise penalties for noncompliance with work requirements for temporary cash assistance. You can read more about the bill here: http://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2017/23/BillText/e1/PDF
This can have severe consequences for those families we support.
Please read about this bill and call the four Florida senators asking them to vote against the bill. Here is the contact information for the Florida Senators: https://www.flsenate.gov/Senators
This bill will likely be voted on TODAY. So, please call ASAP.
The two others bills are HB 581 and Senate Bill 1016; they are seeking to lower SNAP eligibility to 130% of the Federal Poverty Line. These two don't seem to be going anywhere at this point.

Enneagram for Leaders
The Enneagram is an extraordinarily accurate tool for self-knowledge. It gives you a clear picture of how you presently function and reveals the heights that you are capable of achieving. By uncovering your unconscious motivations and the reasons you get stuck, the Enneagram provides insights into the decisions you make and the relationships you create. Rather than put you in a box the way many personality profiles do, the Enneagram shows you the box you are already in--- and the way out! What emerges is a more functional and authentic version of yourself.
