Top 5: Celebrating Administrative Professionals' Day
Emily Griffith High School's educators and students are grateful for the support of Kathy Choi, Mercedes Amador and Iris Alarcon.
Wednesday was  Administrative Professionals' Day and our inbox was flooded with shoutouts for our secretaries, administrative assistants, receptionists and administrative support professionals who do so much to support us and our kids. Congratulations to our giveaway winner, Haley Todd at Emily Griffith High School! Read the Top 5 kudos below:

1. " Iris Alarcon, Kathy Choi and Mercedes Amador are tremendous assets to Emily Griffith High School. They build encouraging, supportive relationships with our students to welcome them into our building each day, and they bring joy to every task -- each announcement, timesheet, mailing, dialer and all the ways they serve our students and staff each day."  -- Haley Todd, Emily Griffith High School

2. "Our team of Dana Cabonor, Karla Garcia and Jazmin Sandoval bring unlimited smiles and positive energy to our community every day at Hill Campus of Arts & Sciences. Our main office is the main lobby and our team interacts with students, teachers and families the moment they enter our campus.-- Sean Kavanaugh, Hill Campus of Arts & Sciences

3. " Veronica Montenegro and Maria Castro-Alvarez at Garden Place Academy wear so many hats and fill so many roles in order to make our school run. Sometimes they are nurses. Sometimes they supervise children. Sometimes they are translators. Sometimes they help students and staff find the supports and resources they need. The list could go on for pages! " - - Lauren Ritter, Garden Place Academy

4. "Quite often, office staff are assigned the duty of covering the health office when a nurse is not in the building. The office staff at Escalante-Biggs Academy has been amazing for me. Even with all of the work required to perform their own jobs, they go above and beyond to learn, practice and care for the unique needs of a pre-K program." -- Myra Coyle, Escalante-Biggs Academy

5. " Sherri Jones, the executive secretary for Transportation Services, is  a dedicated, hard-working lady who brightens everyone's days. Her positivity and friendly demeanor always put a smile on someone's face. She lives our Shared Core Values on a daily basis by approaching her work and interactions with others with Integrity. She models Collaboration because she successfully works with various DPS team members. She demonstrates Accountability for her work, and she always brings that touch of Fun!"  -- Fanny Tellez, Transportation Services

We couldn't fit all of the kudos we received in a Top 5 list, so here are all the other school-support teams who received shoutoutsJennifer Kelley, Dana Smith, Dania Mortimer and Donna Meister at Grant Ranch Elementary; Armando Geneyro and Liz Jagiello in the Department of Social Work and Psychological Services; Monica and Daisy at Barnum Elementary; Sheryl Frausto and Sheri Niko at Brown International Academy; and Julia Yacovetta and Esther Blackmon at Hamilton Middle School.
