2017 Administrative Professionals Luncheon
Thank you to our Event Sponsors!

Without the businesses in our community who invest in the Thomson-McDuffie Chamber of Commerce, programs like the Administrative Professionals Luncheon wouldn't be possible.  We want to also thank all of the volunteers who cooked, decorated and served. These individuals truly helped make this event spectacular.

We had a business expo with six merchants displaying items at their table.  Each business was given the opportunity to speak on what they have to offer, and to say thanks to all of the participants for their hard work and dedication.  Let's not forget the amazing fashion show that took place.  We had three local boutiques with several models present the latest fashion trends.  Thank you Anna Lou Designs, The Luckey Charm, and Priss Pots and Tots Children's Boutique.

And to end the event with a bang, we announced Anita Reese from Georgia Pacific as our 2017 Administrative Professional of the Year. Congratulations Anita!

Congratulations Anita Reese with Georgia Pacific,
2017 Administrative Professional of the Year

THE AMERICAN LEGION INVITES THE PUBLIC TO ASSIST

In honor of the Memorial Day holiday, the Reese-Hyman Post 96 of the American Legion seeks volunteers to help place flags on veteran's graves on May 27th, 2017.  You do not have to be a veteran to volunteer.  Everyone is welcome.  Volunteers will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the new Legion Hall at 472 Main Street, in Warrenton. (the old Georgia Power Building)

There are approximately 700 veterans buried in over 50 cemeteries in Warren County, and the American Legion's goal is to honor each veteran's service and sacrifice by placing an American flag on each grave for the week of Memorial Day.

The flags will be placed on Saturday, May 27th, and retrieved on Saturday, June 3rd.

If you would like to volunteer to help, please contact the American Legion through their Facebook page http://www,facebook.com/Post96Warrenton, through email at [email protected], or call 706-466-4705 from 6 pm-9 pm.  Please note if you have any physical limitations, as we would like everyone who wants to participate to be able to so.

If you have information on a veteran buried in Warren County, or of an out of the way cemetery, and would like to ensure that those service members are honored, please contact the American Legion.

All Volunteers are invited back to the Legion Hall after placing the flags for refreshments.

Consider starting your Memorial Day Weekend, remembering the reason for the holiday, and honoring those who gave their time and sometimes their lives so that you could spend the rest of the weekend any way you want to, anywhere you want to, and with anyone you want to.
