Dear Parents & Pine & Richland Township Residents:
Join us for an informative evening with Associate Area Director Jennifer Sikora of the Western Pennsylvania Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP).
She will present to our community members "Talk Saves Lives." This presentation aligns to Pine-Richland School District's efforts on building resiliency, suicide prevention and intervention services.
We want to continue to strengthen our
partnership with families and schools working together to protect the mental health of our students.
Ms. Sikora will also address recent concerns with the Netflix Series "13 Reasons Why" and provide tips for parents. Resources for parents are also available on the PRSD website.
When
: Thursday, May 4, 2017 from 7-8:30 p.m.
Where: Pine-Richland High School, Steam LGI room
Why attend even if you aren't
concerned about your child?
- The information will help you better understand the suicide risks and warning signs in anyone you might encounter in your life.
- The program includes AFSP's More Than Sad film that depicts different ways teen depression can look compared to "normal" teen behavior.
- You'll leave the program with practical tips on how to encourage someone to get help.
We look forward to seeing you on May 4, 2017.
Sincerely, Dr. Laura Davis Pupil Services Director
