Elementary Jog-a-thon is Friday!
UPDATED SCHEDULE DUE TO WEATHER

We've been keeping an eye on the weather for Friday as the Jog-a-thon draws closer. There is a large storm passing through Seattle Thursday afternoon and evening, with some lingering showers through Friday morning. But, the likelihood of showers decreases as the day passes. While we can't know exactly what the weather will be like, we've decided to move forward with the Jog-a-thon on a modified schedule for the morning.

8:00am - Volunteers arrive to help with setup

10:30 - 11:15 - Kindergarten - 2nd grade on the track

11:30 - 12:15 - 3rd grade - 6th grade on the track

12:30 - lunch (under covered play area)

2:00 - tear down and clean up

While this schedule is compressed compared to previous years Jog-a-thons, we believe it strikes the best balance of safety and fun on what is likely to be a damp morning.

We do have one new ask considering the likely conditions on Friday. We have a canopy we use every year for the sound and nurses station. We would love having 4 or 5 additional canopies for volunteer track counters and water stations. If you have an available canopy please let Jonathan know. You can drop it off at the school any time on Thursday.

We're excited to Make a Difference at the Jog-a-thon on Friday, rain or shine!

Pledges can still be made by going to https://go.rallyup.com/2017-scs-jogathon.

Elementary students don't forget to wear your Jog-a-thon t-shirts!

What Makes Parents in Prayer (PIP) Special
Post by Tuvette McCroskey, SCS Parent and PIP co-leader with Jen Colver

How does it feel to be known and loved?

I began attending PIP ten years ago when my oldest was 10 and my youngest was beginning kindergarten.  I was looking for community and joining a prayer group seemed like a good place to start.  I was a “young mom”, new to the school and was instantly in awe of the prayer leader, Chris Kredit, who had kids in HIGH SCHOOL!
