This Sunday (5/14): UNITY
In John 17 Jesus is in the garden praying for the unity of all believers, which is interesting, considering that his disciples had been arguing about who was the greatest not too long before. And so in verses 20-21, Jesus prays for his disciples and then prays for us by saying, "
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me."
This Sunday we will begin a journey to discover what Jesus meant by unity, how the early church was able to capture it, and how we can regain unity within the church today.

VBS SUPPLIES NEEDED ...
Paint brushes (old & new), Old Tools, Colored plastic table cloths, single-colored, Disposable plates, (round, square, paper or plastic, single color, 6" or 9"), Clothes dryer hose (white or opaque), old opened or unopened paint and old paint cans (any size), Large sheets of cardboard, Styrofoam pool noodles, Slinkies Heavy-weight balloons, Plastic colored funnels from the Dollar Store, Old PVC with some joints to fit, White and colored poster board, Plastic gloves.
VBS FOOD ITEMS NEEDED (to feed 400 each night)
Individual bags of potato chips, Paper plates, napkins, small styrofoam cups, Large cans of powdered lemonade.

Items Needed - Brown lunch bags, Ziploc Sandwich Bags, Juice Boxes and Small Bottles of Water, Gently-used books (Spanish and religious; Bibles also welcome). See collection boxes near Connections Counter.
Decorating Paper Bags - Stop by the Connections Counter and pick up some bags to decorate. (The children love the decorations, i.e., pictures, stickers, Bible verses, inspirational sayings.)
