Be Unique - Be a Leader - Be Aquinas

Principal's Post

I am reaching out for help from the Aquinas community and alumni in the area. STA Bingo is need for volunteers to staff weekly Bingo on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Bingo provides substantial financial support to Aquinas and helps to keep our tuition affordable. Please help us to maintain this important fundraiser. If you are able to support STA Bingo or know someone who could help us, please contact Bridget Moeglin at (330) 875-1631. The more people who volunteer, the less each person will have to work.

We are in need of a high school science teacher for the 2017-2018 school year. If you are aware of any possible candidates, please have them contact me, Mr. Schlueter, in the school office.

Congratulations to our Boys and Girls Track teams for winning the North Coast League Championship for the White Division. Our baseball, softball, and tennis teams start tournament play this week.

Bishop Murry visited Aquinas this past Tuesday. The school looked good, and the teachers and students represented Aquinas well. I was proud of everyone as we showed Bishop Murry the “best version of ourselves.”

On Saturday evening St. Thomas Aquinas High School held its prom. The students looked great and behaved in a mature manner while having fun. Many thanks go to Mrs. Doenges for organizing the prom and to the senior parents for organizing the after-prom and chaperoning late into the night.

Have a great Aquinas week!

St. Thomas Aquinas, pray for us.

Dear parents, alumni and STA supporters,

I am writing to ask for your help. St. Thomas Aquinas Bingo provides approximately $225,000 annually to support the entire school and its mission. STA Bingo has traditionally been staffed by parents of students throughout the years. At the end of this school year many of our parent workers will no longer be staffing STA Bingo because their children are graduating. We thank them for their service to STA over the years. However, we need to replace them.

I am asking for parents to volunteer to work STA Bingo in order to maintain the revenue for the school. We need workers on Wednesday evening and Sunday afternoon. We would like to have as many people as possible. The more volunteers we have, the less each person would have to work.  Additionally, we are offering compensation in the form of a tuition discount. The amount of the discount would be based upon the number of hours served.

Every effort is made at St. Thomas Aquinas to control costs and respect the financial sacrifice that families are making to send their children to STA. Operating STA Bingo is one way that we can keep the tuition costs down. However, we need your help in order to maintain this revenue.

Please contact Bridget Moeglin at (330) 875-1631 by May 9th or use the web sign-up form if you are able to work at STA Bingo. By all of us pitching in, we can make light work for everyone and continue the mission of St. Thomas Aquinas High School and Middle School.

In Him,

Fritz Schlueter

2nd and 7 Literacy Program
STA Students at Our Lady of Peace School
2nd & 7 Reading
The 2nd and 7 Literacy Program includes reading to 2nd graders in classrooms all over the country and providing each of those children with a visit from a positive role model and a new book to take home. The foundation targets schools with economically disadvantaged kids and communities where we can make the biggest impact.
2nd & 7 Reading
2nd & 7 Reading
High-school and college student-athletes from all across the county serve as the inspiration and positive role models to the children we visit throughout the year. They read with the 2nd graders and take the time to discuss the life lesson contained in each story. Student-athletes emphasize the value of education and reading, and explain to the children that if they don't get good grades and try their best at school, they don't get to participate in sports.

Ways to Support STA
St Thomas Aquinas High School is partnering with Schoola ( www.schoola.com ).

What’s Schoola? It’s a great way to raise funds for our school. Schoola collects pre-loved women's and children’s clothes, preps and sells them online, and gives 40% of the proceeds (minus the cost of inbound shipping) back to St Thomas Aquinas High School to help fund programs for our kids. That’s $2 out of every $5 earned back to our school! Simply click on the image to view our very own Schoola landing page where you can request a bag and view our progress and funds earned

The AmazonSmile Foundation will donate 0.5% of the price of eligible purchases to St. Thomas Aquinas High School & Middle School to help fund programs for our students. Every little bit counts, donations quickly add up.

It's easy! Type smile.amazon.com and log into your Amazon.com account. Select St. Thomas Aquinas High School (yes the Middle School benefits too!), Louisville, OH. That's it. Now whenever you make a purchase STA benefits.

Thank you for your support!

Don't forget to forward this to your family and friends!  And encourage them to sign up to receive their own copy of this email blast.
