On Thursday, April 13th we teamed up with Pepperdine University School of Law to present a one-of-a-kind symposium on the topic of doping. The keynote speakers and panelists explored the practical, legal, and ethical concerns around doping.

The day was a tremendous success, starting with a moving keynote speech from Sir Philip Craven, the President of the International Paralympic Committee. In his speech Sir Philip discussed the dangers doping can pose to sport while emphasizing the importance of protecting sport from such dangers.

We invite you to view the photos from the symposium on Around the Rings' website , which also features an article covering the day.

The symposium, was held at Pepperdine University in  Malibu, California , with additional support from  Sheppard, Mullin, Richter, and Hampton, LLP , and  Pepperdine University School of Law .

Grant Recipient Spotlight:
Classroom Champions

We are pleased to announce our new partnership with Classroom Champions, an organization that pairs  Olympians and Paralympians with K-8 classrooms across North America. Their mission is to connect underserved students with world-class mentors, support teachers, and engage families so children can achieve a successful future.

We joined the Classroom Champions staff and 33 teachers in Calgary, Alberta last week for their 2017 SEL Summit, which offers teachers professional development opportunities and the chance to get to know one another and share stories. Our time in Calgary was fantastic, and we know you'll enjoy learning more about this organization as our partnership continues.

Shelby, a teacher from Akulivik, Quebec, shared her experiences as a teacher in a remote Inuit village and the ways Classroom Champions has changed how her students feel about themselves. She said her students now hold their heads higher and walk with pride, and she credits their relationship with their CC Athlete Mentor for that change.
