OPEN POSITIONS ON TWO SCHOOL BOARD COMMITTEES
Finance and Audit Committee
Technology Committee
 
The Menlo Park City School District Board of Education is seeking four volunteer community members to serve on one of two "Committees of the Board:" the Finance and Audit Committee and the Technology Committee.
 
The Finance and Audit Committee was established in 2012 to facilitate public understanding of the District's financial reporting process and to assist staff in the delivery of timely, clear and reliable financial information to the public. The Committee can review and analyze multi-year projection assumptions, can provide input on strategic decisions regarding fiscal health i.e. bonding decisions, long-term economic uncertainty reserve, retiree actuarial report, etc., and on an annual basis, review the audit with an independent auditor. The Technology Committee was established in 2014 to help the community understand the role of technology in teaching and learning, as well as operational technologies in the District. The Committee shall monitor and maintain the District Technology plan, advise and/or recommend adoption or implementation of new technology solutions for every classroom in our District, and may disseminate relevant information related to technology to teachers, staff and the community.
