Did You Know?
The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (H.R. 244), the federal budget bill released on May 1, includes increases for both the NIH and the Clinical and Translational Science Awards. Both were highlighted as "federal programs that make the best use of every tax dollar." The bill, which is expected to be signed into law by next week, will bump NIH's budget by $2 billion over Fiscal Year 2016 More

NIH Announces Funding to Advance Science of Geriatric Palliative Care
NIH's  Research Project Grant (PA-17-225) and Exploratory/Developmental Research Grant (PA-17-226) FOAs seek studies in a variety of settings including hospitals, out patient clinics, and patient homes.
JDRF Requests Applications for FY18 Training Awards
The awards range from $58,000 to $150,000 for Innovative, Training, and Career Development Grants. Awards for Strategic Research Agreements are "as approved." All applications must be relevant to JDRF's mission to prevent, cure, and improve quality of life for those with Type 1 diabetes.
