Library Closures

Friday, January 26, 2018, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
The library will be closed all day New Year's Day (Jan. 1) and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (Jan. 15). Enjoy your holidays! The library will also be closed Friday, January 26 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. to allow for an all-staff development day. We will then be open from 1 - 5 p.m.

Cook Kids Winter Reading Program
December 2017 - January 14, 2018 
Kids ages newborn to 12 can enter into a drawing for every 3 books they read between December 15 - January 14. Names will be drawn at random to receive a prize. For ages newborn-12 years.
Pick up an entry form in the Children's library or download it from the Children's Library website.

Let's Talk Series: Managing Moods and Meditation
Saturday, January 20, 2018, 1 - 4 p.m.
Join us for an afternoon exploring ways to manage our moods and maximize health. Topics will include depression, Seasonal Affective Disorder, and Compassion Meditation.  For ages 14+.

Discovery Lab: Get Your Art Rate Up!

Have fun with these art workshops that will raise your "art rate": Zentangle (Jan. 23), Eraser Drawings (Jan. 25), Ink Drawing (Jan. 30), and Color Blending (Feb. 1).  For ages 9-14.

Family Resource Fair
Thursday, January 25, 2018, 5 - 7:30 p.m. @ Cross of Christ Preschool & Kindergarten, 12099 Lowell Blvd., Broomfield, CO
Visit resource booths, enjoy fun activities and healthy snacks, and receive a free book (one per family), courtesy of the Broomfield Library. Sponsored by the Broomfield Library, Broomfield Health & Human Services, and Broomfield Early Childhood Council FREE and open to all families with at least one child 8 years or younger.

Finding Friendships in Adulthood
Thursday, January 25, 2018, 6 - 7:30 p.m. 
Develop deeper emotional intelligence, learn how to make friends, and demonstrate compassion for yourself and others. For ages 18+.

Parent Toddler Workshop
Fridays, February 2 - March 2, 2018, 10 - 11:15 a.m. 
Have fun with your toddler while you play with toys, read, and create a fun craft. Ask community resource professionals questions about early literacy, speech and hearing, physical fitness, nutrition, and behavior.  For toddlers (18-35 months) and their accompanying parents/caregivers.

Valentine's Day Holiday Event: Sweet Sushi

Celebrate Valentine's Day by making sushi candy!  For ages 11-18.

100 Discoveries that Revolutionized Geography
Thursday, February 22, 2018, 6:30 - 8 p.m.
Join Dr. Joseph Kerski, TED Talker and geographer, for a scintillating discussion about his latest book, Interpreting Our World: 100 Discoveries that Revolutionized Geography, why maps matter, and how geospatial technology affects our everyday lives. For ages 15+.

Holiday Open House      
The Holiday Open House was a huge success! More than 50 people painted Kindness Rocks, munched on cookies, and enjoyed the calming classical guitar of Mike Quam. Take a look at more  photos on our Facebook page.



Public Art Installation
