RAMADAN & SHAWWAL 1438 (2017) ANNOUNCEMENTS

According to the Islamic Society of North America and the Fiqh Council of North America, the first day of fasting will be Saturday, May 27, 2017 (The first Tharaweeh on Friday 26th night), and Eid al-Fitr on Sunday, June 25, 2017, in sha’Allah,
FVAMC Ramadan Evens:
(1) Catered community Iftars (dinners) on Friday June 2nd, Friday June 9th, Friday June 23rd, and Saturday June 17th. Families can sponsor these Iftars by making a donation(s) of $50, $100, or $250. Please sign-up here to sponsor. Payments may be dropped off at FVAMC or mailed to: FVAMC, 35 Harris Road, Avon, CT 06001.
(2) Fundraiser June 17th 6:30-8:00pm at FVAMC (35 Harris Road, Avon), followed by a catered community Iftar.
(3) Nightly Taraweeh prayers starting on Friday night May 26th immediately after Isha (night) Prayer. Isha Prayer will be held promptly after the Adhan (call to prayer). Taraweeh will consist of eight Rakat (units), followed by Witr, and then 12 Rakat for those who wish to perform twenty Rakat. Prayers will be led by Brs. Omar Tawil, Suat Tasdan, and Mohammad Pasha.
