Spring has sprung as trees bloom, birds nest and Patriots gather to stay free!
May 2 features several local elections. Many tax "renewals" and increases are proposed. The new fuel tax increases are putting hundreds of thousands of dollars into local and county governments. Taxes continue to increase at the rate of inflation as allowed in the State Constitution. There are no hardships, only greed to do "more" and failures to plan, budget and spend wisely like we must with our families and businesses.
This is the time to say NO!

The "fake media" hyped about honoring "science" with Obama's radical "environmental" regulations. Of course there are weather changes, and government cannot control it, even with rumored  government chemical contrails.

Your real, personal and intellectual rights are being eroded at an increasing rate. We are losing control. Regulations and taxes keep rising to fund government's demand for even more control - and more taxes, to fund more control and more taxes.

President Trump, his two eldest sons, Vice President Pence and wife Karen, Reince Priebus, and Justice Scalia's widow Maureen and son Fr. Paul Scalia, among others, praying with Supreme Court nominee Neil Gorsuch and his wife Marie Louise in the White House.
The time taken to publicly pray for the Senate confirmation and future career of man who may become one of America's top decision-makers for decades to come is a momentous occasion for Christians who considered Trump's Supreme Court pick to be a primary reason for voting for him.
As the Supreme Court, and lower circuit courts, have increasingly pulled America away from Biblical principles, it is refreshing to see a presidential administration's focus turned back toward God in helping lead our Country. (Thanks, John)
Prayer answered! If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

++ President blinks on budget and Wall - Katie bar the rood! (When Reagan blinked on the 1984 budget it began the march to the first one trillion dollar budget.)
President Donald Trump has indicated that he's willing to back away from his demand that a government funding bill include money to build a wall on the Southern border.
A senior administration official tells NBC News that the president is open to obtaining funding for the border wall in the regular appropriations process for 2018 later this year instead of insisting it be included as part of the large spending bill to keep the government's lights on past this week.
According to a Washington Post report, the president personally hosted a private meeting with some conservative media figures Monday afternoon and told them he's prepared to delay funding for the wall "until September."
Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin told reporters yesterday. "The president is working hard to keep the government open." And by "working hard," Mnuchin apparently meant, "crawling away from the corner he backed himself into without any plan for success."
Democrats are likely to agree to some new funding for border security, in the form of investments in "technology and border agents," and it's easy to imagine the president pretending that this is money for some kind of symbolic, metaphorical wall, but let's not play games: Trump and his team effectively told Democrats, "Allocate money for the wall or else." Calling the White House's bluff, Democrats replied, "No."
And in response, Team Trump blinked. Article

++ Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) introduced a bill calling for the use of $14 billion seized from cartel drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman to be used to pay for the President's border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
"Fourteen billion dollars will go a long way toward building a wall that will keep Americans safe and hinder the illegal flow of drugs, weapons, and individuals across our southern border," Senator Cruz stated, according to a statement obtained by Breitbart Texas from the senator's office. "Ensuring the safety and security of Texans is one of my top priorities."
The Texas senator said that leveraging criminally forfeited assets from El Chapo and other Mexican cartel members and drug dealers can "offset the wall's cost and make meaningful progress toward achieving President Trump's stated border security objectives."
Senator Cruz introduced the Ensuring Lawful Collection of Hidden Assets to Provide Order (EL CHAPO) Act on Tuesday. "The U.S. Government is currently seeking the criminal forfeiture of more than $14 billion in drug proceeds and illicit profits from El Chapo, the former leader of the Sinaloa drug cartel who was recently extradited to the U.S. to face criminal prosecution for numerous alleged drug-related crimes, including conspiracy to commit murder and money laundering," Cruz stated.  More  (Thanks, George)

++ Judge Who Blocked Trump Sanctuary City Order Bundled $200K for Obama - The ruling from U.S. District Judge William Orrick III in San Francisco said that Trump's order targeted broad categories of federal funding for sanctuary governments, and that plaintiffs challenging the order were likely to succeed in proving it unconstitutional.
The decision will block the measure for now, while the federal lawsuit works its way through the courts. (Why does an unelected junior judge have such power over the elected President? Maybe Trump should tell him to stuff it and enforce his order himself?)
The news comes on the heels of the Department of Justice threatening on Friday to cut off funding to eight so-called "sanctuary cities," unless they were able to provide proof to the federal government that they weren't looking the other way when it came to undocumented immigrants.
The same judge issued a restraining order in 2015 against the advocacy group responsible for undercover videos purporting to show Planned Parenthood employees plotting to sell baby organs.
At the time, The Federalist found that Orrick raised at least $200,000 for Obama and donated more than $30,000 to groups supporting him. Article

++ Entire Senate being called to White House for North Korea briefing - The entire U.S. Senate has been invited to the White House for a briefing Wednesday on the North Korea situation, amid escalating tensions over the country's missile tests and bellicose rhetoric.
White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer confirmed the upcoming briefing, for all 100 senators, on Monday. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats plan to provide the update to lawmakers.
It is rare for the entire Senate to be invited to such a briefing. Spicer clarified that while the event will take place on the White House campus, it is technically a Senate briefing and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., is the one who convened it.
Trump spoke by phone with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

++ Nikki Haley - Trump's North Korea red line: 'Don't test, don't use nuclear missiles, don't try and do any more actions,' and I think he's understanding that. And China's really helping us put that pressure on him." Article
Earth would be better served by trusting it's Creator to decide what will be done with the climate.
Junk science is created to distort the truth and allege all kinds of horror stories of what will happen if we do not create a distorted one World controlled oligarchy that will use "carbon credits" and taxes to redistribute the fruit of those who work and innovate, to the choice few on top and the few they trickle your money down to.

++ The knives are out for Steve Bannon. The national media is doing everything in its power to remove one of the major anchors of Donald Trump's political revolution. In many ways, Bannon is the glue that holds together the ideological and practical sides of the Trump administration. Losing him would be an enormous blow to the original goals of so many supporters.
Reports that Trump is distancing himself from Bannon has prompted an almost audible cheer from the press corps. Why is the media so obsessed with Bannon? For one, he's the intellectual heart of the Trump movement.
Don't kid yourself Trump, you need Steve Bannon more than ever. Article (Thanks, Charlie)

++ Earth Day Co-Founder Killed and Composted His Girlfriend    Link     (Thanks, Lanny)

++ John Brennan's CIA operated like a branch office of the Hillary campaign, leaking out mentions of this bogus investigation to the press in the hopes of inflicting maximum political damage on Trump. An official in the intelligence community tells TAS that Brennan's retinue of political radicals didn't even bother to hide their activism, decorating offices with "Hillary for president cups" and other campaign paraphernalia.
Seeking to retain his position as CIA director under Hillary, Brennan teamed up with British spies and Estonian spies to cripple Trump's candidacy. He used their phony intelligence as a pretext for a multi-agency investigation into Trump, which led the FBI to probe a computer server connected to Trump Tower and gave cover to Susan Rice, among other Hillary supporters, to spy on Trump and his people.
A supporter of the American Communist Party at the height of the Cold War, Brennan brought into the CIA a raft of subversives and gave them plum positions from which to gather and leak political espionage on Trump. He bastardized standards so that these left-wing activists could burrow in and take career positions. Under the patina of that phony professionalism, they could then present their politicized judgments as "non-partisan."  More  (Thanks, Stephanie)

++ Ben Carson Finds $500 Billion (Billion!) In Errors During Audit Of Obama HUD - "The total amounts of errors corrected in HUD's notes and consolidated financial statements were $516.4 billion and $3.4 billion, respectively," the auditors wrote.
There were several other unresolved audit matters, which restricted our ability to obtain sufficient, appropriate evidence to express an opinion. These unresolved audit matters relate to (1) the Office of General Counsel's refusal to sign the management representation letter, (2) HUD's improper use of cumulative and first-in, first-out budgetary accounting methods of disbursing community planning and development program funds, (3) the $4.2 billion in nonpooled loan assets from Ginnie Mae's stand-alone financial statements that we could not audit due to inadequate support, (4) the improper accounting for certain HUD assets and liabilities, and (5) material differences between HUD's subledger and general ledger accounts. This audit report contains 11 material weaknesses, 7 significant deficiencies, and 5 instances of noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The same problems were detailed for each of the last three audits, and the auditors say the continued problems "were due to an inability to establish a compliant control environment, implement adequate financial accounting systems, retain key financial staff, and identify appropriate accounting principles and policies." Article   Will Ben use a scalpel or a chain saw?

++The economic burden of America's accumulating mountain of regulatory requirements is almost unimaginable: According to a study from the Mercatus Center at George Mason University covering the years from 1977 through 2012, regulation's drag on the US economy has made the economy a whopping $4 trillion smaller than it otherwise would have been.
One of the reasons for this massive effect is that, as regulations become more and more complex and burdensome, prospective entrepreneurs and managers must expend more resources on issues related to regulation and thus have less available for innovation and corporate growth. More

++ The federal regulatory cost reached $1.885 trillion in 2015. - Federal regulation is a hidden tax that amounts to nearly $15,000 per U.S. household each year. In 2015, 114 laws were enacted by Congress during the calendar year, while 3,410 rules were issued by agencies. Thus, 30 rules were issued for every law enacted last year.
Many Americans complain about taxes, but regulatory compliance costs exceed the $1.82 trillion that the IRS is expected to collect in both individual and corporate income taxes from 2015.
Some 60 federal departments, agencies, and commissions have 3,297 regulations in development at various stages in the pipeline.
The top five federal rulemaking agencies account for 41 percent of all federal regulations. These are the Departments of the Treasury, Commerce, Interior, Health and Human Services, and Transportation.
The 2015 Federal Register contains 80,260 pages, the third highest page count in its history. Of the seven all-time-highest Federal Register total page counts, six occurred under President Obama. More!

++ Presidential Executive Order on Identifying and Reducing Tax Regulatory Burdens - The Federal tax system should be simple, fair, efficient, and pro-growth.  The purposes of tax regulations should be to bring clarity to the already complex Internal Revenue Code (title 26, United States Code) and to provide useful guidance to taxpayers.  Contrary to these purposes, numerous tax regulations issued over the last several years have effectively increased tax burdens, impeded economic growth, and saddled American businesses with onerous fines, complicated forms, and frustration.  Immediate action is necessary to reduce the burden existing tax regulations impose on American taxpayers and thereby to provide tax relief and useful, simplified tax guidance. See The Order Here

Janice Veramay - Should we give illegal aliens a path to citizenship? I don't know, would you give a criminal who broke and entered into your business a path to becoming an employee?
Kurt E Damrow - The Farmers finally have someone in the White House who defends our Ag Industry. The Farm Bureau really fell for it when they talked their membership in to endorsing Democrat Candidates like Debbie Stabenow...maybe someday they will dump Michigan Agri Business, the most liberal Ag group in the country.
Matt Maddock   - President Donald Trump's request that Congress include $1.4 billion to fund the beginning of his proposed wall on the U.S.-Mexico border equals approximately 0.035 percent of what the federal government will spend in total this year.
OR-----We just stop doling out welfare and other social and medical benefits and we won't need a wall. 90% of the illegals will self-deport.
Isabelle Terry - Everyone knows the wall will work. The swamp knows that if the wall gets built.. the cash cows of illegal immigration, illegal drugs, pollution, the cheap labor lobby, welfare and crime... dry up. And so does the need for big government.
Jonathan Williams - Ummmmmmm... I fear we are being setup for a market flash crash when La Pen wins the French election. One would assume the French are as fed up as the Brits were (or we were/are) with the arrogant status quo... the terrorist attacks and lagging French economy have to be taking their toll. I don't really know if La Pen will win... but no one thought she would make it this far... (where have we seen this before?) and the media minions are pitching the same slop. May 7th.

++ Taxpayer Funded Electioneering in Full Swing Before May 2 Tax Votes - A loose law suspended by a court does not effectively stop schools and municipalities from electioneering using your money and staff you pay for, so long as they avoid saying "vote for." Promising stuff, making student write letters supporting tax increases - dirty pool and sometimes caught but then nothing is done about it.
Threatening to diminish programs, educational opportunities, or that property values will decrease if you don't give them more money - apparently fair game until the legislature closes this huge loophole! Truth and speculation are not exposed because individual taxpayers do not have the names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc. that the school/municipality have gathered using our dollars.
Last year, several bills were introduced to revise the law, while defenders of taxpayer- funded electioneering claimed that current law ensures that municipalities are being evenhanded in their tax hike presentations. Will you support legislation to stop this? Link

++ Grant Strobl - University of Michigan student joins fray over Ann Coulter at UC Berkeley "What Berkeley is attempting to do is a mess," Strobl said in a statement. "They know that everything they are attempting to do is unconstitutional. That is why I am so pleased to be a part of the YAF team that has taken legal action against the University of California to assure freedom of speech on campus. We have every expectation that a Coulter speech will be occur at Berkeley.
"Many college campuses have lost track of a simple notion. Diversity should include diversity of opinions," Strobl added. "YAF and I are committed to keep all of our campuses open for thought provoking presentations like Coulter's."
In February, protesters smashed UC Berkeley campus windows, set fires and hurled firebombs at police, forcing the cancellation of a speech by right-wing writer Milo Yiannopoulos, who was also invited by the College Republicans, according to The Associated Press.
Strobl made headlines at UM this past fall when he declared he would be called by the pronoun "his majesty," after the university announced that students could designate a personal pronoun (he, she, him, his, ze, etc.) in an effort to foster to inclusiveness on campus.
The move by UM came after a student petition group collected 796 signatures to put pronouns on class rosters. The petition addresses what supporters believe is an issue for transgender students at the school. Grant has been an active part of MCU. We is also on the 14th District Republican Executive  Committee. We are proud of his success. More  (Thanks, Janine)
