Becky Rogers, Pyramid Society President writes, "We wanted the joy to last forever! But after more than three decades of love and devotion to The Pyramid Society and each of its members, Anna Bishop has announced her decision to take a well-deserved retirement to spend quality time with friends, family and her adored grandchildren.
No organization could have asked for more than what Anna has given. Throughout the years, Anna has excelled in every regard, but is particularly known for her extraordinary ability to make each person with whom she comes in contact feel valued and respected. In return, she is adored not only by our members, but in the Arabian horse community worldwide."

New - THE ALL-AMERICAN STRAIGHT EGYPTIAN CHALLENGE CUP Launching in 2018!
The Pyramid Society's All American Straight Egyptian Challenge Cup is designed to incentivize two and three year old Straight Egyptian Arabian horses to show in open competitions by competing in Challenge Cup preliminaries at designated shows throughout the United States, and to further recognize and monetarily reward those participating winners annually at the Egyptian Event Challenge Cup Championships. The program officially launches with the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show in February 2018!

THE 2018 KUWAIT INTERNATIONAL ARABIAN HORSE FESTIVAL
The 2018 Kuwait International Arabian Horse Festival will be held beginning February 2nd at the Bait Al Arab Kuwait Stud Show Arena in Kuwait City. The Festival will include the 7th International Championship (ECAHO Class A-Show), the All Nations Cup for Straight Egyptian Arabians and stud Tour visits, including a visit to Bait Al Arab on the evening of February 19th.

THE INAUGURAL WORLD CONFERENCE

FAREWELL TO THE BELOVED DR. NASR MAREI
The Pyramid Society mourns the profound loss of Dr. Nasr Marei, a dedicated and successful Straight Egyptian Arabian breeder, exemplary judge, excellent photographer, and a sincere, caring friend to all. His stud farm Albadeia in Egypt was founded by his grandfather Mr. Ahmed Marei more than 80 years ago, and in 2015 Dr. Marei received the Milestone Award from the Pyramid Society.

THE ELIXIR: 1992 - 2017... His Legacy Lives On
We're saddened to share the news that the prominent Straight Egyptian stallion, The Elixir (Hi-Fashion Mreekh x Jaliya) has passed away. Owned by Susan Watson & Leo Barnes of Watson Arabians, The Elixir garnered numerous championships, including Egyptian Event Senior Champion Stallion and Reserve Supreme Champion Stallion in 1996, and was also an extremely successful sire, producing many champions in both halter and performance.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Akid Geshan (Nabiel x Akid Hanalei by AK ElZahra Moniet). He was an influential sire of Champions who held the admiration of breeders worldwide. Debra Geiser of Dara Meadows Farm writes, "He was my first Straight Egyptian Arabian and we spent over 29 years together. It was my pleasure and privilege to be his caretaker for so long." Although he will be greatly missed, his legacy will live on for generations through his many sons and daughters.

EL MASR ARABIAN STUD HOSTS FRIENDLY GATHERING
Dick and Pat Platzek hosted a cook-out for members at their farm, El Masr Arabian Stud. Members met to discuss future possible events for Wisconsin Egyptian Arabian Horse Association (WEAHA), and to celebrate the camaraderie that is the hallmark of the Wisconsin Egyptian Breeders and The Pyramid Society.

MARILEE MOTT RELOCATING FROM LAS VEGAS TO THE LUSH, GREEN PASTURES OF OREGON
Marilee Mott, a continuous Pyramid Society member since 1981 is moving from Las Vegas to Oregon. Marilee treasures her 31 year old Ansata Ibn Sudan granddaughter, by Macho REA and is considering new Egyptian horses to continue her dream in the Northwest. Marilee has been actively involved in educating the public on Egyptian Arabian horses over the years and plans to continue to do so in Oregon.

 On November 11th, member farms, Sharmel Arabians, MJ Arabians and OGM Arabians, teamed up to present "A Magical Day with Arabians", held at Sharon Redman's Sharmel Arabians, in Weatherford, Texas. It was a day filled with activities highlighting the beauty and versatility of the Arabian horse with over 100 people in attendance!

SALAH ARABIAN STUD ANNOUNCES THE SALE OF SIMEON SALLY
 Michell Fraser has purchased the three year old filly Simeon Sally. Sally is a lovely filly, great mover, and has a very interesting pedigree - By Simeon Shifran, and out of the imported German mare Mussallah, by Montasar from Mohebba Bint Maymoonah, full brother and sister. Sally is currently residing at Salah, on route to Michelle in Perth, Western Australia next year.
