For May 7 thru June 2, we welcome Yoga Barn teacher Bex Tyrer and students for their "Freedom Movement Intensive" immersion. There are still a couple of spots remaining.

On Monday May 8 resident Yoga Barn teacher, healer and musician Punnu Singh Wasu will delight us with an Indian classical music concert, the elaborate and expressive art music of the Indian subcontinent. The origins of Classical Indian music are found in the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of the Hindu tradition. This chanting style evolved into jatis and eventually into ragas. If sung properly, ragas are believed to have healing properties. Indian classical music is monophonic in nature and based on a single melody line, which is played over a fixed drone. The focus is on exploring the raga, performances have traditionally been solo endeavors, but duets are gaining in popularity and there is great emphasis on improvisation, no two performances will be exactly alike!
