Trust that a part of you is dying all the time.
We are in constant renewal. Removal of the monotone and the attachments of life is how we are birthed into our true Selves. Sometimes this is a painful process, and sometimes it happens silently, like the Velveteen Rabbit. The Sculptor of thy highest self is quite the artist, and has the big picture in mind at all times. The question is, do we surrender to the loss...the change of season, the void? Are we willing to be edited, stretched and carved for our true Self to be revealed?

Music is a great example of this idea. Without the spaces between sound, we would just hear noise. Boring noise. Mind-numbing noise. Rhythm and melody exist purely BECAUSE of the silence between the notes.   Selective loss creates potency, bringing energy toward what is left behind.

Making these transitions gracefully takes practice and the student mindset of curiosity and willingness. Becoming more potent asks us to also be more engaged.

When we lose anything of substance in our life, or change seasons, give thanks for the good work being done on you. But also, connect with the process by creating a ritual, a small ceremony, a dance, or even the permission to cry. Acknowledge the shift into the PRESENT version of yourself as a step toward ultimate wholeness.

Don't get attached to this version of yourself though, either--it too will come to have burials for the the familiar. And we will celebrate those losses, as well. With the space that we allow to be carved from us, the NEW has room to enter. New ideas, new trust, and more light.

When we try to hold on to all that has positively graced our world, we limit our capacity to expand. So, let us practice allowing the wind and rain of life erode what is ready to return to the source from which it came. Listen and observe where God is shoveling in your heart and give thanks. While there may be pain now, you will be blessed with the abundance of Light--the true source of happiness.

Worth hearing.
Some of you heard this in class last week and wanted to know who sang it. This is a fun, funky reminder that God works in us, around us, and through us in beautiful ways. Extra fun to dance to!
Worth watching.
The art of egg carving. I love the metaphor, and this may be my new hobby.
