Baby Dedication...one of our favorite events of the year!
It is a time for parents who have a relationship with Jesus to make a public commitment to raise their children in homes of faith. Such a special time for the Heritage family as we show our support and encouragement to them!
If your family would like to participate on Mother's Day, please contact Sharon Burris at
[email protected]
no later than May 1st.

Beyond The Walls
Summer is upon us, kids will be out of school, seasonal residents are headed back home, and people are busy soaking up the summer sun. But there is one thing that is overlooked, the food pantry. This time of year is especially hard at the pantry, as donations tend to take a downward spiral.
While the inventory is going down, the need is still very much present. If you are at the store and can spare a few items for the pantry, it will be greatly appreciated.
Items we need the most are:
- Pasta
- Canned Meat
- Spaghetti Sauce
- Canned Soup
- Cereal/Oatmeal
- Condiments
- Rice
Any donations of these items is much appreciated. Thank you for you generosity throughout the year. Our pantry is successful because of the ongoing support our community has for our pantry! If you have any questions please contact Hannah McClain at 365-2552 or email at
[email protected]

NextGen Student Ministry
As summer approaches we are looking ahead to what it brings, which means recognition of our high school seniors and preparations for camp.
Senior Recognition day will be May 21st. They will also be celebrated with a night out to dinner on May 12th. If you have a high school senior that you would like recognized, please email me at
[email protected]
.
Also on May 21st, there will be a mandatory parent meeting for Fuge. This will be our final meeting to ensure our t's are crossed and our i's are dotted. If you are unable to make that meeting for any reason, please let me know as soon as possible so I can ensure you have all the information you need. Please continue to pray for our students as we enter this wonderful time of year.
God Bless!!!

Tree House Kids
May in the Treehouse!!
Thank you to so many of you who volunteered to serve in the Treehouse on Easter. Because of you, every child could feel loved, valued and hear that Jesus is alive!
This month we have the opportunity to partner with our young families as we join them in dedicating their babies on
May 14th. Such a special time for the Heritage family!!
Our next Family Worship in the Worship Center will be
May 28th during the Memorial Day weekend. Worship bags will be provided for each of our elementary aged children. Preschool environments will still be available for Babies, Toddlers and Preschoolers.
As you disciple your children this month, may the following resources help them know God's Word better and learn how to live lives that are full of God's purpose and plan.
Praying for your families,
Sharon

If you have been following our reading plan of the New Testament In 2017 from January 1st, or if you are just picking it up, during the Month of May we will be reading from John 18 through Acts 19. Remember, the plan is for Monday-Friday.

Pastor Sidney Brock
The month of May is a special month for so many reasons: last days of the school year, next door to summer, blueberry picking, Memorial Day, and close to my heart is the celebration of Mother's Day and my mother's birthday- which usually fall within a few days of each other. The poem below, written by anonymous contributor, helps me reflect on the unselfish love and sacrifice of my wife Merideth, her mother Aryln, and my own mother Myra. Mothers, we celebrate you and the gift of influence God has given you.
A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation
A many splendor miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

Sermon Series for May: UNSTOPPABLE
Over the years, we have seen movies, books, or music titles that carry the title "Unstoppable" When you think about the word "unstoppable", what comes to your mind?
Today, it may feel at times that the kingdom of God is facing too many challenges and is losing ground. But Jesus assured us that God's Kingdom is pressing on.
Matthew 16:18
"Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it".
God Bless,
Pastor Sid
