local food businesses and dairy farms as well as to recognize excellence in the Canadian Holstein industry.

This year, the Town of Georgina sponsored a tour of three award winning Holstein farms - Beckridge Holsteins, Lockmar Holsteins and Belridge Holsteins.

Georgina Mayor Margaret Quirk was in attendance and welcomed guests from Canada, the United States and Russia. For more information on Holstein Canada please Click Here.
The Briars Has a Buyer - A New Chapter Opens!

With a buyer found, The Briars opens an exciting new chapter. After a comprehensive global search, involving interest from over 40 qualified investors or groups, and a very careful review of the best proposals from Canada and around the world, The Briars has found a buyer who is deeply committed to its environmental and community stewardship and on-going business success. It is expected that the iconic resort and spa will change ownership at the end of April.

"From the many proposals we assessed, the offer by prospective buyer Mr. Lu, was by far the best as far as plans to develop the resort, protect the environment and to support jobs and the community" said Sibbald.
