Special Prayer Request

|
Rianna, Peter, & Lori at Doernbecher Chirldren's Hospital Today |
|
The Riegelmann family needs your prayers and support. Our heart goes out to them as our head chef Peter and his wife Lori have just learned from the doctor that their seven year-old daughter Rianna has tested positive for AML Leukemia.
They say, "Now that we have the diagnosis, we will turn our attention to the cure! God is so good! We are grateful to our friends and family He has given us during our time of adversity. We have tremendous peace. I know this comes from God. We are praying for a miracle. May God receive all the Honor and Glory and may we honor and glorify Him in whatever path He sets our feet on."
Here is Rianna's address. She and Lori would love to receive visits and mail.

Tami & Mark Kinslow
|
|
This spring has also been full of changes as we have welcomed several new staff members. Mark and Tami Kinslow and Donna Ganoa, and Betty Thomas.
Mark is our new main
tenance man and makes Tim smile real big as he attends to projects large and small all around the center. Mark worked as a senior manager for the Oregon Property Tax Division, so he is a man of many talents. He is currently helping CRC design a database and a better registration program. Tami, after being a homemaker and homeschooling mom for twenty years has become the perfect match for CRC's new Assistant cook.
|
|
|
Donna Ganoa |
Donna helps out with housekeeping and kitchen needs and is sharing a house with Founding Director Eunice Hansen. She loves all kinds of crafts and has fit right in.

Betty and her Granddaughter Ashlee
|
|
L
ongtime friend Betty Thomas has joined us as the new "Voice of CRC" - our new Registrar! Many of you may even have met her or her granddaughter Ashlee Giesman (who recently married good friend Jody Blanton's
grandson Donavan Karr) while here on retreat. Thankfully, Sheri Keepers, who has covered the registrar responsibilities for the last year, will still be working at CRC occasionally so you may still get to see her. Sheri's home is in Stayton which is nearby. We are forever grateful to her for stepping in just when we needed her until we found just the right person to fit the position long term.
This weekend we are hosting our second work retreat so roll up your sleeves and come join us! You can eat our mouth-watering food and get to know some of our new staff. We have lots of spring cleaning and fun projects to accomplish both indoors and out, so come, bring the family and flex those muscles and we'll have a good time together!
In May, we look forward to having Evangelist Jon Dunagan and his charming wife Ann, who wrote "The Mission Minded Family" here with us for Memorial Day Weekend. Never has there been a family I more admired. They have preached the gospel to millions of people in over 50 countries, support 1,000 orphans in Africa, and have started Bible Schools. If you want to light a fire in your life, you don't want to miss this action packed weekend of "Saying Yes to God."
This summer will be a different one for CRC, as many of you who receive our newsletter have already heard. Tim and I will be taking our first-ever sabbatical from May 31
st
-August 31st. With the news of Rianna's AML we have wondered if we should go ahead with this plan, but after much discussion we have decided not to cancel our plans but continue on with them in trust that God's blessing still rests on us all. Please keep our staff family in your heart as we navigate this storm with the Lord's help and grace. We know that Jesus is in the boat with us.

January Sunrise over the Main Lodge
|
CRC will continue having Guest Groups, as well as Personal Retreats, while we are gone. Our talented and capable staff will carry the torch while we're gone. However, we will not be hosting Summer Family Camp this year. God willing we will be back with Family Camp in 2017!
We will be here for Labor Day though, so don't miss out! We will have popular speaker Dr. Bradley Stuart and his lovely wife Sue. He will also bring with him his new book which is an autobiography of his life, entitled, "Challenged to Triumph." He will speak on leading balanced lives in a world where things can be taken to extreme (and how character and the Word of God helps us with that) and being ready for Jesus' coming.
We appreciate all of your love and support.

It has been a sweet and fruitful season for CRC with our last three events; Scrapbooking Retreat in January, our Italian-themed Sweetheart's Weekend in February, and "Cruising through Motherhood," our Mother-Daughter Retreat in March.
Not only did we have fun, fellowship and delicious food, but the Lord
met us in amazing ways through worship and our speaking times. A lot of tears of healing and deep repentance happened as people shared testimony after testimony of how God moved in their lives in the closing sessions.
