Post-Secondary Success Call To Action

We are in the beginning stages of launching our
Post-Secondary Success Collaborative Action Network (CAN), which will ultimately focus on increasing post-secondary enrollment and completion rates for our youth. We are inviting anyone who is currently working in this area to learn more.

For us, "post-secondary" includes skill certification, trade programs, apprenticeships, along with traditional college degrees. We are intent on supporting youth along ANY path that leads to quality employment opportunities.

By 2020, 65% of jobs in the nation will require credentials past high school.

OUR GOAL: Increase post-secondary enrollment and completion of youth in Adams County through the collective efforts of cross-sector partners focused on eliminating barriers and investing in what works.

Collaborative Action Networks or CANs are the "guts" of the Adams County Youth Initiative and function as a collective impact mechanism that brings practitioners and partner organizations together to provide cross-sector coordination of efforts in areas that impact progress towards a shared goal.

Together, within the Collaborative Action Network, we will:
  • Focus on county-wide and disaggregated data
  • Work to understand barriers
  • Engage youth in our work
  • Focus on equity
  • Set goals and work on projects
  • Receive technical assistance and support to help accomplish goals
  • Seek resources to support efforts
  • Determine what works and scale those efforts
