Below is an Opportunity to Volunteer w/ Youth

The Youth Advocacy Division (YAD) is partnering with the Massachusetts Association of Hispanic Attorneys (MAHA) to host a one day Youth Symposium (4/29) at Suffolk Law School with the objective to educate young people about the Massachusetts juvenile justice system, while also inspiring them to think about their current and future opportunities & goals.

The aim of the symposium is to reach 100 youth participants: Expose a culturally diverse group of inner-city high school aged children to the path of a legal career and the variety of careers within our juvenile justice system, educate the youth participants about the juvenile justice system in Massachusetts; explore how the inter-disciplines collaborate (ie. defense attorneys, prosecutors, probation officers, judges, and social workers).

There will be 3 separate one hour panel sessions focusing on these specific topics. There will also be a resource fair at the end of the day that provides resources to current high school students as well as presenting opportunities for out of school youth and 18 + opportunities and/or programming.

To volunteer at this event, please email  Kathryn Ratey to express your interest.
