Favorite Kids' Docs 2017!

Last year, 5 of our wonderful therapists were voted by you as NJ Family Magazine's Favorite Kids' Docs.  Please vote for your child's therapist, and place a vote for our director, Sheri Marino.

Horse of the Month
Tetley

Tetley is on his second year with us.  He is a Pony of the Americas, and though we don't know his actual age, we guess he is around 10.  Tetley loves to be cuddled and given lots of attention after riding!  He is patient and kind with all our riders and is particularly skilled at unzipping zippers with his teeth!

Tetley first came to us in October 2015.  He went back to his home at a summer camp for the summer of 2016, and has returned for another year with us.

Tetley loves attention and being turned out with his best buddy and neighbor, Small Fry!

Volunteer of the Month
Monique

Monique has spent this semester as our mental health intern with Kathy Lutz, our social worker.  She is a senior at Montclair State University who majors in Family and Child Studies.  In addition to sidewalking with Kathy's mental health sessions, Monique is always a help around the office, filing paperwork, tidying the office, and helping to develop Kathy's new "Girl Talk, Horse Talk" program.

Although Monique will complete her internship in May, she will always be a part of the Rocking Horse Rehab team!   We hope to see Monique again in the future!

Grant Money Available!

RHR is a recipient of a generous grant from the Italian Welfare League, an organization which assists children of Italian descent who are ill or have suffered an emotional trauma. Since 2001, they have raised and distributed over $1,500,000 to hundreds of children and organizations which provide services to children.  Their grant helps us to provide services for children of Italian descent who otherwise would not be able to afford our services.

Their recipients have many different diagnoses, such as brain injuries, autism, cerebral palsy, and Down syndrome.  For more information on how to receive a grant for our services, please email us at:  [email protected]
