A Message from our President,
Diana Sanchez
Van Nuys Airport

Congratulations to the Education Committee and the chamber staff for one of the largest and most successful Teacher of the Year events I can remember.
The night was filled with inspirational stories and caring teachers.  I only wish
we could have made them ALL outstanding teachers of the year because they were all very deserving.

I want to thank all of you for your support these past four months.  We have been very busy!  April was another successful month, with a lot more to do in May and June.  Don't forget School Board Member, Scott Schmerelson, will be our lunch speaker on Tuesday, May 16th.

Guest Speaker:
LAUSD Board Member

The school year is coming to an end, and there are two hotly contested elections for seats on the Los Angeles Unified School District board. What does this mean for the school board, Encino, and the next school year?

Join us for our Business Networking Lunch on May 16th with LAUSD board member Scott Schmerelson. Mr. Schmerelson is a former teacher, counselor, and is now midway through his first term as a school board member.

Please contact the chamber if
you'd like to sponsor this lunch.

Don't forget to buy tickets for our prize drawings.
Want extra front of the room time?  Donate a prize!

Did you know that for only $150 per year, you can advertise
in the "hot sheet" with your business card ad?  Please contact the
chamber office for details.

Be Aware and
Share the Road

Linsey Momet
On behalf of the California Office of Traffic Safety

Whether you're driving in a car or motorcycle, walking or bicycling, the road belongs to everyone equally.  As drivers, too often we only look out for ourselves on the road and forget that motorcyclists, bicyclists and pedestrians use the roads to travel to get to their destination, too.

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you at our next event.  Please log on to our web site at
